Ben continues much the same. He's somewhat responsive and shows some ability to move extremities. Doesn't appear to bein any pain.

AN UPDATE ON BEN, from an email I got today:

Most of today, Ben has been able to get along well with a “trach collar” which is an improved step in weaning him from the regular trach…. In his wife's word’s: “Prayer is remarkable…Ben has shown improved strength since some people began to specifically pray for greater strength… It seems that whenever you pray specifically, that we see improvement in that area… Will you please pray that Ben will become more alert and the neurological sleep cycle regulator will improve? …. We would love to see his level of alertness improve. Recent cat scans show that there is no additional damage since Aug 18th.” We are encouraged today. Thank you for praying!

Doing some surrogate Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) tapping for Ben for improved alertness. Johan

Ben is considered "medically stable" enough so that his doctors are considering moving him closer to home. (15 minutes, as opposed to 1.5 hours)

He and his family could use continued prayer. The post-op stroke(s) apparently affected the part of the brain that controlls consciousness and sleep cycles.

Ben still remains in the L-TACH, an hour or more from home. He keeps spiking fevers of about 102F, which the doctors struggle to control. There is uncertainty if the fevers are physiological in origin, or infection related. He still has alertness issues, and has also had to be re-vented.
