Change the weigh-in date to Monday! That's what I do for weight watchers, and boy, I may indulge a tad, but I don't go hog wild and eat all my extra "points" on the weekend.
It's not you, the Friday weigh in and weekend binge is a very common phenomenon in weight loss/maintenance circles.
I'm down a pound and a half since Friday. And I bought bikinis for Hawaii! There's incentive for me!

Well, don't expect SUPERBOB's foot in your butt, Cooker -- Superbob can hardly put any weight on his feet this morning.

I have put in a call to the doc's office at my wife's insistence. Is it likely to just get better on its own, she asks? Well, no, I guess she's right. (As usual.) May have to have a x-ray and see what I have done to this knee. Ironic, it is my other knee (my old "football knee") that I have long suspected would need eventual replacement. Maybe favoring it contributed to stressing the other one even more.

Most likely my excess weight finally caught up with me. The Throw Down helped me lose more than 20, and for that I am grateful. But I need to lose another 30 -- sadly, though, as Granbonny used to correctly point out (and yes it seems like she is still here with us), it gets harder to do as you get up in age.

I so much appreciate all the support and suggestions of you wonderful folks. I am going back and re-read them all now. You guys are the best!

Great job on the pound!!:D ..We have had it on Monday and changed it to Friday...My wife's WW weigh in is Thursday night but she is able to have Friday to splurge and then back with it...point being I guess it is just whatever is best for the individual or the group....As always...there is nothing written in stone as far as the Throw Down goes:)

First off, let me tell SuperBob how sorry I am that he has encountered this substantial roadblock.:( But I am optimistic that he will conquer this hurdle and persevere in maintaining the weight he has lost.:)

I also weigh on Thursday at Weight Watchers, and I have found, much like Cooker's better half, that I can splurge a little on Friday and be back on track for the week-end.

I belonged to a weight loss group that met on Monday nights, and although it is true it kept me focused through the week-end, it really was miserable.:(

Something to think about . . .

Cooker, what I try to do is have the best of both worlds--behaving myself during the day and indulging a bit Friday and Saturday nights. I am careful to notice when I'm full and stop eating. For the most part, it works. Also, I have been keeping hard candies on hand for that something-sweet I tend to crave after meals; if I just have a piece or two or five :D most hard candies are one point per serving.

Cindy and I are now ready to re-join the Throwdown. We both officially joined Weight Watchers today and will be attending meetings. We haven't been able to do it on our own. We'll post the amounts we've lost starting at this point.

We're getting ready to read through our material and make our grocery list.

Found out today that Chik-fil-A has a very good sugar free lemonade. That and a Chargrilled Chricken sandwich is 5 points. Guess where we went after our meeting. :D

That's good news, Wise! I have never been to a Cik-fil-A, mainly because I didn't think I could eat anything there. It's always good to increase the "legal" choices!

I love, love, LOVE their "Diet" Lemonaide. I'ts better than their regular lemonade, in my opinion. That's always what I get when I go to Chik-fil-A. I just wish the waffle fries weren't so darn tempting!!! Stop making my mouth water! ;)

Today felt like a "skinny day" to me. Partly because of the miraculous 2 pound loss on the scales this morning, partly because of the fit of my pants (they've always been loose-ish, so that's nothing new), and partly because I ate reasonably well today (peanut butter crackers for breakfast, a salad and 1/2 cup of soup for lunch). It's amazing how much better you can feel just by eating the right things! Now if I could just get the message to my taste buds! ;)

Well I sure didn't eat healthy today. Went to a ladies pot lunch where everyone brings a dish.
My favorite was a home made coconut/pineapple cake. UMMMMM Wish I had taken a bigger piece but that's OK it's less to settle on my butt.

Well, a good friend of mine was going to start driving to my house daily to go on a long walk down to our local park and around. We are going on a vacation in October that will require swim suits so we decided to get busy. However, I got a call from her and she'd fallen in a window well while working in her back yard on Saturday and it looks like she's going to need knee surgery. Our other friend (who was not joining us on the walks, but will be going on vacation with us) told me it was a sign from God.

However, I can't look at it that way. Started to hit the Total Trainer hard yesterday, have been drinking water like it's my job and am trying REALLY hard to keep the carbs low. The first few weeks are hard because of the cravings. But I've stocked up with low carb snack choices.

I wanted to ask Marie if this "pot lunch" was low carb. I may have found my new diet aid!!!!:D :D :D

Wise and Cindy - welcome back!
