cooker said:I have been feeling fatigued for the past week. I seem to bottom out in the afternoon (for a short while) then bounce back. Close the store at seven and home for dinner and a little TV. Lately I have been falling asleep in my recliner; I did not even make it till ten o?clock several nights this week. The recent changes have been that I have been walking 5 times a week, have not missed and I have incorporated a lot more fruit and veggies into my diet. I know my caloric intake id down as well as the amount of protein I am getting.
I am not having any SOB and my walks are at a good pace with no problems at all. This fatigue seems to have developed, or I have noticed just in the past week. My wife thinks it is the dieting and exercise that my body has not fully adjusted to. She also seems to like to mention my age?..I?m eight month younger than her so she better watch out. I know I?m not getting younger. Ok I will shut up and asked the question. Do you think this could be valve related? If it is, would not I be SOB?......I am Not a worrier of an alarmist, so for me even to mention this tells you that it is a noticeable change. Thanks.

I would only add to your comments, that I have not been able to exercise due to this bum knee and I am definitely feeling tired in the afternoons and completely ready to poop out at night. So, changes in habits can affect your body's metabolism and endurance.
I often wonder if our bodies don't remember things. So each time we stress ours out abit, the body falls back into that uh-oh... must heal....still in recovery...sleep, sleep, sleep.....mode.
That said, my nurse practitioner who advised me about my knee (wait 2 more weeks then see the orthopedist) also listened to my heart (my request) and said she heard a murmur of 2 out of the "something or other scale" of 4, and are you going in soon to get an echo. Well, thank you very much, echo isn't due until April, but I sure went home and made the appointment! I'm not that thrilled with this practitioner anyway, so I'm not worrying much. My point is.....Cooker.....if you don't feel right, let someone know! You can't possibly know what's going on inside. And that little seed of doubt can wreak havoc on a person's best intentions. So if this blood sugar thing doesn't pan out...or you are still feeling very tired, please, just give a quick call to the cardio!!
Haven't even weighed in today. Too frustrated. Taking a bye due to knee injury!!
Good luck everyone!

Cooker, I have recently started using Special K protein water additives (not sure what they're called, but they're little powder pouches that you add to water). They are located near the SlimFast stuff in the grocery store and they provide 5 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber for zero points. I like them because they make me feel full for a while. They might help you out with your tiredness if it is blood sugar related. (And it's not prune juice, so it's entirely legal )
I have stayed the same this week at 149. I'm happy enough to still be under 150, but will try to do better next week. I'm still officially down 30 pounds.
