This next week may be a tough one.....Easter holiday celebrations and spring break for many.....remember...this deal is not about denying ourselves of the foods we love.....for me it is about portion control and staying active.....We will go to a sunrise service at 7:00am and Easter services at 11:00am....Then everyone in the family and a few who don't have family will gather at our house for a feast.....almost every southern delight that you can imagine:D .....Everybody gets a mulligan on Easter Sunday:D :) :D .....

For those of you who celebrate Easter I wish you a wonderful day and for those who do not I wish you the same!!!....Back at it Monday morning!!!!

Sounds like all the Whos down in Whoville. ...and they'd feast, and they'd feast, and they'd feast, feast, feast, feast!

SUPERBOB has done an early weigh-in since he hasn't reported one in a while.

Bottom line: SUPERBOB has lost 4 pounds in the past week.

Exercise: Giving SUPERPUPPY, chocolate lab puppy, sufficient exercise (which is never enough as far as she is concerned) while giving SUPERDAWG enough walking and attention to assure her she hasn't been tossed aside.

Going to pick up crazy Daisy from the vet's now (have had her spayed and microchipped -- maybe Bina can tell me if she's likely to slow down any now.)

But first SUPERBOB is going by the coffeehouse and enjoying a cranberry-orange scone. He thinks he has earned it. He figured he would weigh first. :D :D :)

Great job SuperBob??..you deserve a scone, or two??As far as the pup?..I had a lab and she slowed down for about 24 hours?.She is gone now but that dog stayed on the go until she was about seven years old when she developed hip problems??Enjoy your new found exercise partner.:)

Bob, hopefully you can keep crazy Daisy quiet for a few days post op.....after that it will take another 2 yrs for her to become progressively more manageable.
These are the teenage years.....and the same survival methods apply; consistency, love, rules, respect, discipline, exercise, and a good routine.:)

I just signed up online for WW. My daughter is joining me, and we'll have our first weigh-in Saturday morning.
I'm hopeful, from reading PJ's and Cooker's posts, that this will help. Lord knows, it can't hurt!:p :p
Great job, SuperBob, will you weigh in tomorrow, too?

Yep, I am supposed to keep Daisy to "indoor confinement" for 7-10 days, which means I am supposed to walk her on a leash when she needs to do her business, which means (combined with Sadie's walk, can't neglect her), I will be walking my fanny off! :p :D This should be good for Throw Down purposes. :)

Is the coffee shop within walking distance????:D

Your core or flex question put me in a dither, but I now know I'm a Flex! I didn't choose it, but that's what they gave me!

22 points a day and 35 weekly?

I understand 22 but I'll hazard a guess that the 35 are bonus? I hope?!!!

Well, that's just a little slight of hand. Instead of allocating 27 per day, they say plan for 22 but there are 5 extra per day that you can use either daily or move around to another day of the week. If you choose not to use any of those 35 you'll lose faster.

On the other hand it would not be a good idea to save them all for one day and say you can do 57 points one day because you stayed within the 22 the other six. That's simply a recipe for disaster. So just assume you have a range between 22 and 27 per day and if there are a few you didn't use throughout the week, splurge a bit.

One point is roughly equal to 50 calories, so the 35 pts is worth about 1/2 a pound per week. What it amounts to is: use them and you'll still be losing, don't use them and lose an extra 1/2 lb per week.

Now, the real bonus pts are activity points, i.e. exercise. There are different point values for different types of exercise and duration, but they say don't add in more than 4 pts per day. I violate this all the time figuring on roughly 2 pts per mile running but never awarding myself more than 10 pts no matter how long or how far I've run. (I'm known to go out to 12-14 miles at times.)

Supposedly you get 35 bonus points a week??so why not just give you 5 more a day??...I try and stay with my daily points and let the 35 be for the little slips I have from time to time. :D

Thanks Jack?..the best and simplest explanation I have heard.

Thanks for the explanations!

I have always used exercise to counter balance my calorie intake, but recently I'm not being consistent with getting it done.:(

Hopefully the exercise points will motivate me to get back in the pool.;)

Now THAT's for me!!!! :D :D I'm so tired of all this Northwest rain and gloom....some first day of spring, it's hailing, dark and cold .....I want sunshine!!!!

I've been mulligan-ing it now for several weeks, I guess. Just got my second shot of Syn-visc to my bumbling knee and am determined to get back on the track (literally) on Monday and start my walks and Curves. Still don't know if it's a torn meniscus (he wants to wait....which we did last time, 6 years ago and I ended up with orthoscopic surgery) so whatever........

Depending on what time of day I jump on the scale, I'm still keeping the weight constant, a pound or 2 up, a pound or 2 down. So I'm hoping my body thinks this new lighter weight is a new starting point, and the next 20 pounds will fall off fast!!! HA! We'll see.

Everyone sounds dedicated (well, when you're all being serious) and productive and determined!! Excellent!!!

Best wishes for a lovely weekend.

Marguerite

Are Mulligans chocolate flavoured?...I sure hope so :D ...It looks like I am stuck forvever at my current weight, hardly moving at all up and down the same 2 pounds over and over,,,boring really.
