Greetings:thumbup: ... I seem to be maintaining ... I was down a pound earlier in the week but I'm back at last week's weight and that means a net loss of zero for the race:rolleyes2: ... I have been keeping a log and it is clear that I am doing some things right ... I'm walking everyday, drinking plenty of fluid, taking my meds everyday and, well that's about it ... I am not eating a lot but I am enjoying sweets daily (ice cream, cheesecake, lemon pie etc.) ... so what I need to do is walk longer or cut back on the sweets or both ... I'm going to have to think about it ... I love my sweets and at my age and with all so called bad habits I have given up I'm just not planning on sacrificing the pleasures of food .... What's a Chimp to do:tongue2:

I hope all have had a good week and doing well:smile2:

Race to Labor Day starting Weight: 209.5
This Week's Weight: 209.5
Race +/- : 0.0

The Cheesecake Diet ---- YES! Cheesecake of all kinds! ;);)

Almost as good as the Scone Diet. :D:D

Superbob no doubt will be weighed at his hematologist appointment tomorrow, so will check that against SB's scales, convert to the SuperHero's metrics, and report.

Well well! At the state fair I ate a beef brisket sandwich (delicisioso) with chips and a coke, shared some French fries later, then had a 1/2 pound burger with more fries, then later during a lousy but free concert I consumed good sized cup of chocolate ice cream and ended the night with another coke. It could have been worse (I saw the Krispy Kreme burgers) and, even though I illicitly consumed gluten and dairy that have been banned from my now sad life, I weighed less this morning than yesterday morning. Today my weight is 183.8, pounds that is ; ). So I have a meager weekly loss of .8 lbs. I'll take it.

Ah, yes, I could live with the cheesecake and scone diet!

SuperBob, I will await your sure to be post of a loss .....

Wise, I am green with envy ... sounds crazy delish ... and lost ... excelent....

Duffey, you seem to be on the right track ... eat more oatmeal....

It appears that the boyz have been misbehaving......The Ref needs to kick some butt around here !! ;)
Since the Ref is otherwise occupied, I will step in and order the trio of bad boyz to a 24 hour diet of only fruits
and vegetables....and that means RAW or STEAMED. You may drink water or awful diet beverages.
Enjoy.....

You have no power here ... begone and tend to your goats:tongue2:

Hi Everyone and Bina too. Just finished lunch with Greg H from this forum-first time we met scar to scar. HUGE smoked meat sanwich and 20 french frys devoured by Bob, I'll weigh in tomorow after a bike ride or 2. Gotta watch myself Bina is down the road a 100 miles or so. Bob

Cool that you two could meet for lunch...sounds nice! Also, I've heard that Bina can slap from 100 miles away...hehe.

Good to meet with friends:thumbup: ... I almost made it through the evening without sugary snacks, almost:redface2: ... But I did walk this morning so I have two weeks of Monday through Friday under my belt ... hoping for a good week so that I can show some small loss for the sprint to Labor Day ....

Superbob weighed at the hematologist's office (doing his first visit there on a tropical stormy morning). His scales matched up well with SB's so that the result is no change since last week, and...

1.815 kg loss for the Labor Day sprint.

More testing is coming, but this very nice doc reassuringly said my blood (and they drew a LOT of it) looked "normal" to him. He doesn't recommend anything invasive like a marrow test right now, but will keep watching those blood counts. Good to be looked over, I guess. I know the Big Guy upstairs has looked after me for so long and in so many ways -- I am blessed!

Hi all! Is Bina really as healthy as she seems to be? ! Good thing I'm more than 100 miles away or she would probably smack me too! :eek2: Throwdowners, I have sinned - just now finished a lovely filet mignon sandwich from Outback and fries and some of that awful diet coke. There is a klondike bar hiding out in my freezer - but I know where he is..... As of this morning anyway, I had essentially stayed the same this week - lost .4. I need to get smacked. I'm up a pound or so for the race - need to do the math but it is depressing.

Agree with you whole-heartedly Cooker that it is tough to keep it up. You would think at our age, we ought to be able to do what we want. But you have to at least stay vigilant or you know it will spiral out of control, you will gain a lot and you will be even more miserable than you are now for having to give up some sweets. Now if I could just practice what I preach!

Wise - you done good - the rest of us are going in circles.

That Irene looks pretty nasty. I hope all of you near the Carolina coast or anywhere up the east coast are prepared, evacuated if you should be and all your hatches are battened down. Fasten your seat belts - it is going to be a bumpy ride! The rest of the country is praying for you - specially someone you know in Austin Texas. Stay safe!

I will never give up - but I sure need to stop giving in!!! I need to exercise my resistance muscle. There is always tomorrow....:smile2:
