I’m happy to report that I’m down this week:thumbup: .... I’m hoping that I am back on track but with my record only time will tell:rolleyes2: ...

So are we all good with a race to Thanksgiving? ... Lots of time and opportunity to make serious strides in the reduction of girth ...

I know that shakes, cones, cakes and brownies can cause expansion ... has anyone ever found that diet sodas are bad for reduction? ... I have cut them out and gone with un-sweet tea sweetened with Sweet & Low ... I know sodas has sodium so maybe that’s the answer ...

Anyway it’s early, I’m rambling ..... Off the the golf course if the rain holds off ... Have a great week!!!

Thanksgiving Day Marathon Starting Weight: 217.25
Last Week .... 221.50
This Week .... 217.25

Okay, for the Founder's Day Sprint, Superbob had absolutely no change, not one ounce. He has not gained any (that's good), he has not lost any (and he should).:redface2:

I doubt the status quo will get Superbob on the podium for even a bronze medal. He doesn't deserve one.

Oh well, next comes the Race to Turkey Day.... Best wishes to all.....

Well, maybe Wise will post a loss for this one.:redface2:

I weighed in at 149 this morning.
That's two pounds up for the week, and a half of a pound gain for the race.:eek2:
I think we've all found it more difficult to exercise this summer, so maybe the advent of cooler temperatures will work to our advantage.

Are we getting old??? .... :frown2: Something hurts all the time ... damn ... I even wake up hurting ... maybe when I lose all the weight I need to there will bee less to ache:biggrin2:

Reporting from the realm of oldness, Superbob has to say, no, the aches and pains don't go away; if anything, they increase. Creaky knee, back that radiates pain. But you have to learn to deal with them by finding the beauty in life. And yes physically you can ease them some by getting in better shape. That will make you feel better about yourself and maybe even lighten up the pain. But probably not eliminate it altogether.:wink2: Sorry, if that's too sour a view. Maybe some people can make it go away entirely, but I wouldn't recommend doing it with pills or a bottle.

As for starts on the Race to Turkey Day, I am off to a horrid one. Drove to Nawth Carolina (Raleigh-Durham) for a kiddie soccer tournament, and man did I hurt from all that driving. Then DW (who must be part-Italian) wanted to go to Maggiano's Little Italy, a place where they give you huge portions of pasta, and then give you a fresh, huge serving of it to take home. If I can ever break away, I will go to fitness room today and try to work off some of the damage I did. :eek2: Hope the kids and grandkids will eat those take-home servings. :smile2:

Just had a realization: Did Superbob "win" this Sprint by staying the same? If he technically did, he wishes to donate his banana pudding prize to a good cause. : )

Superbob, you are definitely in the running and will claim first place unless the Kentucky Flash weighs in with a loss.:smile2:

Glad you're reporting in, Cooker. I hope you keep it up.:smile2:

I finally used the last of my 50 pounds of apples last night. I baked two more apple crisps (my freezer runneth over with the dessert) and hope our visiting children will make short work of them.:biggrin2:

Congrats Superbob on winning the FDS! I ended the Sprint with a 1 lb. gain because of two consecutive nights of over indulgence.

Apple crisp! Yum!

Ha, Superbob wins by standing still. Something tells me that ain't gonna work for the Turkey Day Marathon. :tongue2::D

You might scoff at having won due to no gain, but speaking for myself, I would be happy with no gain!:tongue2:

BUT, I just saw an ad for some fancy/schmantzy swim electronics. I'm giving serious thought to purchasing one to rev up my enthusiasm for water workouts.:smile2:

I'm also signed up for another charity walk in early October, so hopefully the high temperatures will go by the wayside, and I'll be able to resume some pavement pounding.:smile2:

Sounds like a good plan, Duffey. I definitely need to step up my exercise -- more swimming, more walking, more exercise biking. :D (And less eating my way through all the Carolina cuisine I can lay hands on.) :eek2:

Fricking weight is up:mad2: ... no reason ... my ring is tight so I'm guessing it's fluid ... Congrats Bob ... winning with no net change :biggrin2: .... hehehehehe

Can Superbob have a special "Ref's" ruling that he can use this coming week as his starting weight, after he is through eating his way through Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill during granddaughter's soccer tournament? Maggiano's pasta one night, Cheesecake Factory the next -- and in between, a visit to country cousins where sour cream coconut cake was served up...for lunch. :eek2:

Superbob would like to count losing these pounds that are going on right now. I'm sure there is a lot of sympathy for Superbob after he won the sprint by standing still. :biggrin2:

I called the Ref and she said, "Tell Superbob, YES!" I guess it's legit. I'm not going to argue with her!:wink2:

Cooker, it's probably fluid weight. Keep up the good work, and you'll have a loss for the week.:smile2:

I'm headed to Hardin County. There's a little eatery on the Ohio River calling my name.:wink2:

I'm glad the ref has approved Superbob's request. It sounds all of us can/will benefit from that ruling.

Duffey, what does this eatery offer for the now friend of the Ref? Details required.

Superbob, your culinary tour sounds divine.

Cooker, hope you're peeing out that extra fluid today!

Sunday 8-26-12 ... 221.0 ... retaining fluid and feeling slugish ... I'll try and cut down on salt and walk ... if it's not off in a few days I'll call the doc ... always something:rolleyes2: .... party on:cool2:

Wise, I took a picture with my cell phone from our vantage point. It's a crappy picture, so I'll try to explain.
Elizabethtown, IL is smack dab on the Ohio River. There use to be a fish market out on the river that has been transformed into a floating restaurant. It's been in business for 5 years or so. Their business has increased enough that they've run out of space, so they came up with a plan to build a floating, double-decker patio that adjoins the restaurant. It was built up river, maybe in Ohio, but then they needed to transport it to E'town. Using good ole southern Illinois gumption, the owners decided to tow it down river themselves. Not surprisingly, the first attempt led to the structure taking on water and almost sinking less than halfway to its destination. They rethought their plan and hired professionals to tackle the move. Early in the summer, E'town's floating restaurant gained a two-story patio to share anchor with.
Saturday, our clan occupied most of the second story deck. We were on the Ohio, about 20 feet high, when I took the picture. It was neat, beautiful day to be outside, but the family reviews were mixed. Bob and I really enjoyed it, but a few of the kids thought there was too much wave action for their liking. river eatery.jpgThe food was good, but standard fare for a place that is limited in what it can cook. Anything taken on to the boat has to be taken off the boat. No discharging anything into the river.
Anyway, if you want atmosphere when you eat, you'd enjoy this place!!
By the way, that's Bob's sister, our daughter, and our son that you're seeing. I don't know where the arm came from or whose arm it is!
