Here we go on yet another week of the quest for our goal weights ... I'm down two pounds this week, just drop in the bucket in the damage I have done over the past few months but it's a start ...

I have decided ti really put forth the effort to right size myself, I hope ... have had a couple of health issues start to develop that I am hoping are primarily caused by bad diet and gaining weight ... I believe at one time during the past three years I was in the low 180's which means I have added an additional 20 pounds along the way ... I see my Internist in August for my yearly physical and my Cardiologist in September for my bi-yearly checkup and if I can lose back to the low 190's by then maybe these issues will resolve themselves ... I know some of it is aging but mostly bad eating and no exercise ... anyway at 100F you won't see TheChimp walking the neighborhood ...

I hope everyone has had a good week and I'm so glad to see some of the original gang back with us ... as always anyone is welcome ... no confessions or weight postings required ... peace out:cool2:

Starting Weight: 233
Last Week: 206
This Week: 204

Way to go Cooker! Wish I could say I'd dropped 2 lbs. I'll do my official post tomorrow as soon as I can get to it (work is a pain in the you know what..) . I'm thinking I'll be about the same though. I did go out to a Tex Mex restaurant for happy hr yesterday to talk about a possible cruise/trip to Costa Rica/Nicaraugua (sp?) and I am so pleased with myself that I only drank club soda and didn't touch a nacho or a chip or guacamole or anything. Now if I can just keep it up - but the weekend is coming and for some reason I think that it is my right to eat! I had sugar free margaritas by the pool last Sunday - which I thought was a good compromise - even if not a very good margarita.:p

Wow, Rhena! There's no way I'd be able to sit at a table with chips/salsa or nachos without stuffing my face (those are, unfortunately, two of my weaknesses). I'm impressed! Though, as much as I love margaritas, I did not indulge in the $2 ones the other night because (sadly) they make my feet swell these days. :(

Stayed the same. *sigh* Earlier in the week I was down 2 lbs. But I ate Whataburger for lunch yesterday, so I guess I ruined it. Dang it. :frown2:

I'm still hovering 2 lbs above goal.

Did I tell y'all I bought a treadmill off Craigslist this week? $90, for my in-home post surgical rehab, and heat of summer workouts. Our eliptical has a really heavy flywheel and I struggle with it when I'm healthy. Outdoor walks are not happening until 8:30 at night these days.

Anyway, I'm trying to teach Jet to walk on the treadmill. Yeah, where's Cesar Milan when you need him? He makes it look easy like the dogs just naturally take to the treadmill and start walking. Jet is not thrilled. She alternates between scrabbling with her nails to try to jump off, and halfway lying down and freezing (which involves immediately being spun off the back end as I frantically hit the stop button).

There is no joy in Mudville. The mighty Superhero has struck out. :(

To be specific, he has acquired those 2 pounds that The Chimp lost this week.

So many reasons/excuses: birthday party, making Pop-Pop Pancakes on demand for the grandkiddies practically every morning, seafood buffets, and especially Superdawg deciding it is too stinking hot to take daily walks and instead just taking quick necessity jaunts into the backyard and back in. Superbob has tried to compensate by working out in the exercise room but so far it has neither matched the walks nor cancelled out the extra calories. :(

Congratulations, Cooker, on losing two pounds and taking a hike! :D
Niki, glad to see you back.
Our vacation contributed to my 1.5 pound gain. 157.5 when we left and 159 today.
I will give appropriate contemplation to this temporary setback and then maybe try to do something about it.;)

Hey - glad to have you back Duffey and I'd say you did good for only 1.5 while on vacation. Contemplate - then take action. Sounds like a plan.

Thanks for the acknowledgement Niki on my passing the Tex-Mex by. I can't believe I did it myself. Last night though I was too tired to cook dinner so settled for low fat string cheese and 5 Grain Wheat thins (more than one portion I might add). I'd have rather had some nachos - but good thing I don't keep anything like that in the house.

The chimp can WALK??? Upright or on all fours? Maybe just with arms dragging...:p

SuperBob - just hang in there. You've been doing so good I know you'll be rid of those two pounds next week. Is there anywhere that is nice and cool in the good ole US of A right now? Maybe in the Rockies or something. Monday was only the first day of summer.

Laurie, I have a mental image of you and Jet trying to get the treadmill thing down. She sounds like a very smart dog so I'm sure she will eventually get the hang of it! I'm surprised you can even walk after 8:30. It's still been close to 90 degrees at 10pm here and so humid.

OK - I've stalled enough on the gab. Down to the business at hand.... I lost .6 lbs this week. Some of you without digital scales would say I really stayed the same - but to you I say :p I'm still in the red for the race. Maybe I can at least break even by the 4th?

Later losers...

P.S. Go team USA! All of the sudden the country has gone World Cup crazy! I dont' even understand the rules :)

SuperBob and Duffey I suspect that the gain you have experienced is poundage transfer from TheChimp ... I placed myself in a centrifuge and am slinging the pound in every direction and I am afraid the two of you were closest:tongue2:

After I weigh tomorrow, it may be determined that I also was a victim of centrifuge sling. We'll see. I ate a little extra the past couple days. Been self medicating myself to prevent a full blown sinus infection thing. Needed more food as a consolation.

Good loss Cooker and Rhena. SB and Duffey, what slings on must sling off! Nikki, I think you've done well to not gain more than you have considering you're caring for twins; hang in there. Laurie, you have maintained close to your goal weight for so long that I think you deserve a hand!

Wise, I think the only reason I haven't gained more is because the twins didn't let me slow down long enough to eat a full meal the first 7 months! LOL And now, I try to cook healthy for them, so it trickles down to me. Also, we really don't have the money to eat out. *shrug*

I think the key to me actually dropping some pounds is going to be making an effort to get some concentrated exercise. Yes, I play with and pick up the kids, but I don't generally sustain an elevated HR, you know? I need to start scheduling some walks around the mall into our week.

Well well! I lost .6 pounds this week. I weighed at home before the WW meeting and had lost over 2.5 lbs from yesterday morning. How that happened is beyond me. May have been the Wii activity I've gotten in this week?

Anyway, I weighed 167.4, lost a total of 26.8, and 13.6 in the Race to RW&B. Cindy lost .8 this week, weighing in at 133. Since Cindy had reached lifetime previously, she only needs to lose one more pound to get back to nonpaying status. Good for her!

Nikki, I can see how that the activity with your children could be more of a help than a hindrance. I never helped raise little ones; mine were 8 & 12 when I married into parenthood.

Thought you guys might be interested in reading about this form of exercise. I just found out about it from a friend on FB (former high school classmate is opening a studio, I think).

WOW! The Kentucky Flash strikes again! Way to go! I'm not sure anyone but maybe SB can catch you now. I'm just hoping to break even in the race for the RW&B. I gotta tell you that is really depressing. I feel like I've worked so hard from St Patty's day to here to have not lost (and perhaps even gained) anything. I just try to remind myself of the alternative if I hadn't been making an effort - it could be so much worse.

Good luck to Cindy on getting back to her lifetime goal! That is the hardest pound to lose (ask Laurie!). Niki, I think you will find that a few laps around the mall is definitely helpful in the weight loss game. I find it a real stress reliever for me too. I go at lunch nearly every weekday and it keeps me from strangling certain individuals at work! in the afternoon! :):eek2:

I did some damage at a Barbecue dinner on Sat., but it was all soooo good I just couldn't restrain myself and the host is famous for his homemade cheesecake and I had to have sliver to make sure he hadn't lost his touch!. He hadn't. Tomorrow my youngest niece turns sweet 16 and I'm hosting around 15 teenagers or so at a pool party chez moi. I am in charge of grilling hamburgers/veggie burgers (I never even thought about being a vegetarian as a teenager) and I'm sure I will feel obliged to taste my results. Just to make sure they are worthy of being served of course! ;) Maybe I have more deviations of my healthy eating plan that I realize - that kind of explains the staying the same now doesn't it? Oh well. I just need to redouble my efforts - that's all.

Hope everyone has a good week.

I've heard of this - maybe it's time to give it a try!! I can only hula hoop going clockwise... don't know why but I can never get it going the other direction. If I had more of a waist it'd probably be easier!
