Well I'm up another 1.5 pounds but I can say that it was expected ... been eating lots of cobblers, cakes etc. ... DW is on summer vacation and that means baking:eek2: ... hope all have had a good week, win, lose or draw ...

Last Week: 212
This Week:213.5

It is what it is:tongue2:

No weight loss for me. No gain either. I'm exactly the same as last week, 177.3.

Cooker, I'd be up more than 1.5 if I was eating yummy baked goods, so maybe that should count as a victory. ; )

Scales haven't budged for me since last week. Stuck. Maybe they're broken. : )

Edit: Superbob reserves the right to weigh again tomorrow or Saturday to see if he has peeled off a 1/2 pound or so in this sauna that is South Carolina. : )

102.5 in the shade at my house yesterday about 7pm. My parents and brother arrived late afternoon only to find out that my AC was broken. I was at work. It was a very hot night for them - but my sister brought over lots of fans. I on the other hand have a mini-split AC in the upstairs master bedroom which was working very well, so I was nice and cool. Felt kind of guilty about that, but I offered everyone to come up and have a slumber party with me! :)

Right now it is 102 again - but at least the AC got fixed this afternoon and it didn't cost me anything since it was under warranty Yipppeee!

I am bound to have sweated off a few pounds - tomorrow we shall know. I did good last night - everyone had hamburgers and fries and I had my chicken with green beans and broccoli. Good thing my mom doesn't bake Cooker. In fact my Mom hardly cooks at all anymore. Can't say as I blame her.

To all of you fathers on the Throwdown - Happy Father's Day!!!! :D:D

Manyana y'all!. Don't throw in the towel anyone and like Cooker - even if you enjoy some of life's delicacies - keep moving and then move even faster!

Rhena, you did very well in the face of burgers and fries. Impressive feat, Olympic caliber. In excessive heat no less. Two thumbs up!

Up 1 today..........Oh well ! Keep up the good work everyone ! Have a Happy Father Day...................

Starting weight: 163
Last week: 162
Today : 163

OK...I'm in! I don't check weight often - 227 lb in Nov/10, 222 Mar/11, 217 2 weeks ago and 215 yesterday. I'm 6'4" with goal weight of 205-208. Ice Cream is my vice. No idea what a cobbler is, probably best thing. Nutritionist at cardio rehab says I'm doing really well. If I remember right when I first dropped weight in 05- I was 280 then,

Now that the weight is on the way, Smoking is the issue. Picked up again 20 days after hospital release, been in smoking cessation program, doctors MOST disappointed with me, friends family etc etc. Still 15-20 cigarettes a day and yes I notice the health implications particularly the heart. Addictions suck. It's time.

Bob

You must be a Canucks at 6'4 .:biggrin2: You came here for revenge.:biggrin2: Hope you have no hard feelings toward the Bruins.:) Just want to say Hi and welcome you aboard to the throwdowner.:)

Hey Bob,

I'm your Bentall's and piggy valve brother here -- welcome!

You'll find no condemning of addictions in this merry band of Throwdowners -- we all had them, or have them. Sounds like you know what you need to do. We're here to support you. All of us have battles that we fight of one kind or another.

I, too, was 280 a few years before my surgery -- always on the heavy side. It was a plus when I played football lineman; not now. Had it to 269 after my cardiac rehab. Many ups and downs, the yo-yo effect, and I'm 265 now. If I could trim off another 10 pounds and keep it off, I would be a mighty happy boy. That's where the Throwdown helps, keeping me aware and at it.

As for cobblers, I guess they are most prevalent in the American South. They are somewhat similar to pie without the crust. Fresh seasonal fruit -- peaches, blueberries, cherries, etc -- mixed in a highly pleasing dessert blend. If confronted with cobbler, try to exercise moderation. Talk about addictions.:p

We are delighted to have you join us. Looking forward to your progress reports.

Welcome CanoeBob - sounds like you have been doing a good job on the weight loss for sure. We are happy to have you join us as we all help each other through this journey of the pounds.

As SB says we don't judge anyone - you know what you need to do and will get it accomplished eventually. I quit smoking long ago, I know how hard it is. Now I am addicted to nicotine gum still! Docs don't seem particularly concerned about it - but it is money I could spend somewhere else - like on vacations - my favorite hobby! :D

I too have a medrtonic piggy valve... you me and SB are triplets (three little pigs.... jk....::D)

Such High praise from such a Wise man. Thanks! I posted earlier, but forgot to include my weight. But first,, I think everybody saw in last week's thread that Mary was away and I had no idea she was having such problems with the health of her family. That is a lot to go through in such a short span. Thinking about her and her family, and as she asked I am pointing out again that before she left just before this week's thread started, tshe had lost 1.5lbs! Go Duffey!

My numbers this week:

Start of Race to RW&B: 215
Last Week: 207
This week: 206.2
Loss: .8
Total for race: 8.8 lbs

Now if I can get through all the family fun this weekend without putting too much back on! Happy Dad's day to you fathers. I know mine will be glued to the TV watching the US Open.

Hmmmm, burgers and fries and yet a loss! If this were boys versus girls, SB would demand a re-weigh. :p However, since we are triplets, along with CanoeBob, I will just offer my hearty congratulations, Rhena! :smile2:

Cindy faced the music and here's her weigh in:

Today's weight, 146.8. Two weeks ago, 144.5. Up 2.3. For RW&B, down 3.1.

Rhena, the best choice is the chicken and broccoli......soooo good. Don't even think about yukky fatty burgers
and fries. YUK>>>
Cooker, who on earth puts on the freaking OVEN in those temps ? Try some cool frozen fruit pops.
CanoeBob, next time you reach for a ciggy, look behind you cuz I just may be there with a stick to smack you.
Oh, right, I don't even belong to this group. Just passing through to be a PITA.....;) :)

Now I thought pita was a pleasing kind of Mediterranean bread. But went to Urban Dictionary and found the alternative definition: PITA ("pain in the a$$"). Naw, Bina, that's not you -- you're a nanny but not a PITA. :p

You missed the real point SB, I didn't EAT the burgers and fries, I watched my whole family eat them while I had chicken, broccoli and green beans. I almost have the steely determination of a super character.

Now after my family celebration this weekend, I can't say I did so well, but could have been worse. I did not have 1 single Peanut Butter Cookie (I didn't have multiples either for any of you wise-***** out there) that my Mom kept trying to hide from me (but I knew where they were.) I did however down a few margaritas and cooked Fajitas for Dad on fathers day.

Hope all you Dad's had a great day - the golf wasn't so exciting since that Irishman had it all wrapped up early on - but Dad still watched intently - with college World Series in between.

Hey Bina!!! We love having you around keeping us honest and being a regular PITA.:biggrin2:

Rhena
