Cooker,
While I have not posted my weight gains/losses, please keep the throw down going cause it gives me inspiration. Right now I am very bummed because the torn ligament in my left ankle (which I thought would be healed after 4 weeks) has not and now I have nerve ending issues in that foot. So no exercise, wear a brace and compression sock til the thing finally is overcome. So I live my life vicariously thru all you throw down members (yes I am ashamed:redface2:)

Chris, no reason to feel ashamed. Ashamed is how I operate about half the time on the Throwdown, well maybe only 1/3 of the time, and all it does is make me eat more.:eek2:
Good idea, Superbob!:smile2:
Good strategy, Wise!:smile2:
Cooker, if you're short on paper, I'll send the IOU's I've collected from you over the years.:wink2:

Good list: ate oatmeal for breakfast, ate Greek yogurt for lunch. Bad list: probably no exercise today. Good list: probably no cake either.:biggrin2:

Weight last week: 149.0
This week: 149.5
Gain of a half

Bad list: pork 'n beans for lunch, nothing else. What! That's crazy.

Good list: did brisk half-hour on x-bike at workout room overlooking the community pool (which was brimming with its own energy) :biggrin2: Had pear and banana for snack; then roasted chicken and veggies for dinner.

The big test comes late tonight. Maybe if I can avoid snacking on every food morsel in sight, I can call this more of a good list than bad list day.

Quick post this morning: I gained 4 lbs. and Cindy gained 1.5, weighing at 187 and 150. This week is on my bad list; the previous weeks were on my good list. Okay, back to behaving, except for the all day buffet at Churchill Downs race track on Sunday afternoon, where we'll be with friends. I won't lose much money since I never bet much anyway.

The Kentucky Flash is still on track to win the Red, White, and Blue, unless Superbob somehow loses his usual 2, plus another 8. Not likely to happen -- though you never know.:wink2:

The list thing is helping though.

Late last night, SB puts it on his good list as having only three peanut-butter crackers at bedtime. Believe it, that's far, far better than the bad-list grazing SB too often does in the post-midnight hours. It's a start toward better behavior. :thumb up:

Breakfast: good list: cream of wheat, 1% milk, toast, cheese stick for extra protein.

Lunch: peanut butter and jelly (no-sugar-added) sandwich -- okay list, I guess. : ) Good: pear for a snack.
Bad list: snitched two fudge creme Oreos --- totally random, sugaraholic DW had stashed them ... noooooooo!

Good list: Broiled salmon salad for lunch at the Carolina Roadhouse.

Bad list: I was just teasing the waitress about the dessert menu and the "Apple Walnut Cinnamon Pie" having 3 healthy ingredients if you ignore the tons of sugar and butter that bring them together, and lo and behind, DW must have thought I was flirting so she "forced" me to get a take-home order of the pie. So now it's here, as super-sweet as I suspected. Alas. So much for enduring the salmon. :frown2:

I was impressed by the salmon, but more so by the reason you had to get a take-home order of apple walnut cinnamon pie.:wink2: You really should make DW eat it.:tongue2:

Wise, show restraint tomorrow . . . . .:smile2:

Holy-Moly:eek2: ... Logged on and saw post were UP .... I should have bought stock in the Throwdown ... I’m trying to get back on track but it’s slow .... Our church always has an abundant supply of Krispy-Kreams and I have a birthday party to attend this afternoon (can you say cake) ....

I was thinking the same thing about restrain this morning. My weight had budged downward since Friday, so I would like to not catapult upward!

The Throwdown is like the Stock Market, Mr. Chimp -- we have our ups and downs, but we are always here, making progress over the long haul. The Market has its Bulls and Bears; the TD has its Pigs and Peregrines. Sometimes we are down in the slop soaking up a few extra pounds, but then we shred them and soar like the peregrines. Onward and Upward, Mr. Chimp. Wallow not in the Krispy Kremes! :biggrin2:

I want a piece of Apple Walnut Cinnamon Pie and a piece of Baptist cake too! Maybe I'll find some today at the horsey race buffet!!!! Moderation, moderation, moderation....hmmmm

Yesterday's 5K Run/Walk, my first ever "official" one, has done a world of good for my motivation and confidence. Wonder if there's a team relay race waiting for us somewhere?
Think about it.

DW and I are doing the Walk to End Alzheimer's in October. It's a mile or a mile and a half or two. I forget which. :tongue2:

Weekend BAD list: Son of Superbob said "let's have a cookout!" In the minds of the males in the family, that mean throwing a few steaks on the grill, but DW went to cooking' up a storm, including a pistachio pound cake with some kinda super-sweet coconut glaze on it. It was of course incredibly delish and SB ate more than his share -- and there's still half left. :eek2:

Rainy this morning: Got to get on good list by hitting the workout room this afternoon (and trying to give away that cake to the grandkids!)...:biggrin2:

I have sampled Cooker's DW's pound cake, and from your description of darling wife of Superbob's pound cake, the ladies' baking skills are a force to be reckoned with.:smile2:
Stay strong, Superbob.:wink2:

I have also sampled Cooker's DW's pound cake, and if SB's DW's pound cake is half as good, he's in deep trouble. Just saying. Next time I'm offered Mrs. Cooker's pound cake, I'm accepting!!!!! I have a feeling that Mrs. SB's poundcake is pretty darn good.

My bad list from yesterday isn't as bad as it could have been. The buffet at Churchill Downs was great, but most of it was fairly healthy. The desserts were okay, but not fabulous, so I ate some but not as much as I would have if fabulous had occurred. Also, we didn't do too bad betting-wise. We lost about $15 dollar in ten races, cashed several winning tickets. Make a couple of bets that ate what winnings we would have had. That's success to me. Had a ball too!

Good List for start of week: Superbob walked from Cardiac Rehab to the new Heart Center to do Mended Hearts patients' visits, and then back to CR-- that's from one end of a big hospital to the other, and also up all stairs 'cause I'm paranoid about elevators (especially in medical centers -- got stuck solo on one in Richmond a long time ago). That was a lot of walking to start the day.

Also Good List: Went to Starbucks for a skinny latte as a reward, and (rare for SC) they had cranberry-orange scones!!! :eek2:Knowing of the peril of the remnants of DW's pound cake, I passed on the scone.

Nothing Bad List so far. About to offer Superdawg a drizzly day walk, and then head to workout room.

Hmmm, wondering about The Chimp's good list/bad list over the weekend....Was swinging involved, and would that be bad or good? :tongue2:
