Okay, Throwdowners, weekly weighing time draws near! Superbob took a peek this morning, and it didn't looked too bad, despite the seafood buffet and son's birthday bash last night (calories don't count for such occasions, right?), but SB will wait a day or two to step on the scales officially.
Was thinking that we are blessed to have such a dedicated core of Throwdowners here. (See, SB has decided to use honey instead of vinegar this morning -- something we Southerners specialize in, right honey? SB loves it when the Carolina girls drawl a "sugar," or "honey", or "sweetheart" at the coffee shop or wherever. Never mind that they no doubt give the same greeting to all males, it puts a smile on SB's face. Thank you, Carolina girls.
Anyway, we do have a dedicated little group here, and I think the TD is continuing to help us. I know it helps me, and I think others, too.
But we are NOT a closed group. We will welcome back any former Throwdowners who have wandered away for whatever reason. Don't even have to weigh in -- we just would love to hear from you again. And DEFINITELY we will welcome any newcomers who may be looking in, have an interest in shedding a few pounds, and would like the support and fun of doing it as part of a group.
Our main rule is that we have no rules. You can report in any way you like. The legendary Chimp, beloved founder of this TD, reports his beginning weight, loss (or gain) for the week, and since the inception of the Throwdown. Just for added fun, we have added a sprint to the Fourth of July -- to see how much weight we can lose between March 17( St. Paddy's Day, when our last sprint finished) and July 4.
But you can report any way you want. SB himself is a little sensitive about his weight, but he will confess that when the TD started, he had reached 280 pounds. But now, gradually, he has worked down to the 250s, perhaps the lowest he has been since he was a schoolboy football player (and the heaviest guy on his team). That's still a lot of weight to carry around, and SB wants to peel off some more, but he knows it has to be a gradual process -- slow and steady wins the race -- to be healthy.
SO anyway Superbob is rambling on this morning. Good luck to all Throwdowners. Look forward to hearing from y'all, you sweeties you.
