Greetings! Well, this week our little Friday Throwdown falls on the 13th:eek2:

Today marks four weeks with no nicotine gum and I have only gained ten pounds!! So as of today I am up ten pounds for the R, W & B race (R, W & B starting weight, 202) ... Now if I can work on moving downward it will be great ... I will gladly trade 10 pounds for release from nicotine addiction:thumbup: ... The gum chewing (Extra Polar Ice Sugar Free) as greatly decreased and I'm not wanting to munch as much .... one day at a time with lots of praying I feel this thing has been licked....:biggrin2:

So with TheChimp reporting a ten pound gain for the race everyone should feel good about reporting whatever and wherever they are as long as it's less than ten pounds:biggrin2:

R, W & B Starting Weight: 202
This Week: 212 (up 10)

You da man, Cooker! Keep hanging tough -- you'll be the winner, we're all in support of you!

What with walking dogs and making pancakes for grandkiddies and getting ready for an appointment with a new cardio this morning, Superbob hasn't had a chance to weigh in. (Come to think of it, guess they will weigh me at the cardio's office, but I assume not nekkid -- unless the nurse is cute and insists. :p)

Anyway, Superbob will weigh tomorrow and maybe have some basis of comparison with the "official" weigh-in.

All best to all the Throwdowners!

I stayed the same as last week. It's a little discouraging, but we are dealing with hot and humid weather, so maybe I'm retaining fluid. No jeers from the peanut gallery!
:wink2:
Chimp, trading 10 pounds for nicotine freedom seems like a terrific swap. Keep up the good work.:smile2:
Superbob is doing a super good job with the help of his canine companions.:smile2:
Nelson, get on the scales and chase my weight this time around.:tongue2:

Last week: 156
This week: 156

No loss for this race, but I am down 10 from early February.:smile2:

Good Job Duffey ....

You are doing great, Duffey. Keep up the good work.:) This morning I weighed myself and the scale read 163. :)
I didn't gain or lose any weight since the race. I'm eating a vegetarian diet and i feel great.:) No more meat for me just mock meat.

Good job, Nelson! I hope the mock meat isn't Spam, but other than that, going meatless sounds good to me.:smile2:

I heard, by way of the grapevine,:wink2: that a new Krispy Kreme has opened its doors in Columbia, SC. Any guesses as who it will count among its first 100 visitors?:rolleyes2::rolleyes2:

Good job, Nelson! Different strokes for different strokes. Guess that BBQ bacon cheeseburger I had at Beef O'Brady's after my granddaughter's softball game last night (she went 4 for 5, BTW) wasn't mock meat (at least I hope not!) :p I have to have protein in every meal to keep my blood sugar stable, but of course I don't usually have bacon cheeseburgers.

Guess my weight remains about the same this week, best I can figure after a visit to the cardio yesterday and occasional glimpses at the scales during a crazy/hectic week. Will try to take a close look next week, Hope things slow down just a little.

Nelson, I've eaten a veggie burger from time to time..... they aren't so bad - but I'm a carnivore through and through.

Cooker - that is fantastic 4 weeks - I'd say you've got it licked. Please tell me that whenever I finally get ready to release myself from my nicotine fixes that I don't gain 10 pounds.... you aren't giving much encouragement there. Fact is, work has been so stressful lately that I think I am actually chewing more - gotta stop:eek2::

Eating healthy (mostly had one splurge dinner of tex mex and margs) and cardiac rehab are paying off for me. Down 1.8 lbs this week.! Eat my Dust ya'll! :biggrin2: Game is on! Actually I think Cindy is kicking everybody's butts!

Starting Weight RW&B 215
Last Week: 212
This week : 210.2
Total loss for race: 4.8

That cardio rehab is real good exercise, isn't it? They push you a little harder than you'd push yourself. Congrats on the loss, Rhena.

And Bob, I'm sure SW and the pups are grateful you've kicked the nicotine. You can lose the weight again.

I'm holding steady/down a bit. Last week I reported in at 136.7. Today I'm at 135.9, so my strict adherence to diet and exercise are working...until tomorrow.
Tomorrow, we go for CFS and biscuits with some friends. Ain't nothin on the menu at Babe's Chicken Dinner House that's diet friendly, even (especially) the veggies. Sigh, the sacrifices we make!

All my bloodwork came back today from my annual check up at the internist earlier this week. I hear tell all the numbers are good, except I'm a tad low on the Vitamin D, despite all the time I spend outdoors. Now, if they'll just get around to faxing me the actual lab reports like I asked, I'll know the exact numbers.

Seems like everyone is doing well and I'm trying to get with the program ... no snacks yesterday but I did have a medium pizza last night:redface2: ...

We have a new Krispy Kreme close by ... I stopped in yesterday and bought two dozen for the folks at work ... I did not touch them, just walked away with a tear in my eye:wink2: ...

Cooker, sounds like maybe you're feeling a little better? Sounds like a big victory regarding the Krispy Kreme experience. Real donut lovers cry. ; )

Cindy apparently behaved better than I did this week, according to the following:

CINDY:

Starting Weight: 149.9
Last Week: 144.9
This Week: 144.8
Loss: .1
Loss for RW&B: 5.1

WISE:
Starting Weight: 183
Last Week: 178.8
This Week: 180.3
Gain: 1.5
Loss for RW&B: 2.7

In truth, I probably ate better this week than last week. Not going to worry about it. We have a surprise birthday party to go to this afternoon for friends who are 85 and 86 years old. Their daughter is making lots of prohibitive food. Then this evening we're going to a gathering of friends for more prohibitive food and to let Perry meet their new rescue dog who, we hear, is a miniature version of Perry. Sounds like a day FAT with fun.

I walked today:thumbup: ... thoroughly disgusted I have decided to take another route with this health/weight loss deal ... one day at a time, just for today ... that philosophy seems to work for other things so lets see how it works with this ... I was sitting in church last night and realized I was becoming my father and I'm to young for that ... I'm wearing clothes to cover my gut , pants cutting off my air and that my friends is bull butter:mad2: ...

I checked the scales this morning. First time since last Thursday's weigh-in, and I seem to be maintaining. We had a busy week-end, with lots of family eating opportunities, but I guess the energy expended outdid the calories consumed.:smile2:

Okay I'm trying to work up courage to jump in the Y pool and do laps when it opens back up at 3. The PA in my cardio's office says one of their patients lost 30 pounds doing that. (Didn't say how many boring laps for how many years that required. :p ) Okay, Superbob is more acquainted with leaping tall buildings and other outdoor activities but he's about to take the plunge. If he can lose 10 pounds, it will be a miracle!

Go for it Superbob ... a super hero can change identity, that's part of his super powers ... so dive in Aqua-man ... they say swimming is one of the best exercises you can do ... Is Superdawg taking the plunge too?

Superbob did 40 minutes of aqua jogging his first day. Maybe he'll work into some swimming but he tends to swim for relaxation instead of exertion. So maybe pool jogs are better for SB. Eases pressure on knees and back.

Pool looks out on the Barc Parc where Superdawg roams occasionally (but only when SB is with her) and the grandkids' soccer fields. Nice facility. Only downside of aqua exercise is that it seems to increase my appetite -- will have to watch that.
