I have had NO processed sugar for 3 days and my weight is going up~

Signed: One Pissed Off Chimp:mad:

Um, yeah, that would be enough to tick off anybody. Cindy claims that 40 % of my diet consists of ice cream. She may be right. If I couldn't have that, or some treat, I'd be miserable. I hope your plan starts to gel for you!

Cooker, I've got a friend at church who has been off processed sugar for about 3 years now. She is very obviously smaller now though I don't remember her being so at 3 days.

Wise, I have a "healthy?" appetite anyway but on steroids it is almost scary. I'm on 30mg/day now for 3 days and then down to 20mg/day for two, then 10mg/day. I figure I'm really going to have to be on guard for at least the next ten days. Steroids not only make me hungry but also crabby. What a combo.

Sorry...forgot to report in. Minus 1 again this week.....and we even went out to eat to celebrate my 3 mo. anniversary postOHS!
So, I am now at -2; hope to continue at a pound a week until July....

Pat

Betty, bless your heart. If you've got the munchies, you at least want to feel good along with it!

Pat, great job! Keep that up and we'll all be trying to catch up to you.

You say you are hungry for crabs Betty?! Welcome back from your cruise - sounds like it was memorable - always good to get together with family.

OK sorry all - TxWildflower is checking in late I know, but better late than never. I'm going to blame work and it wouldn't be a lie. 10 hour days in front of a computer screen doing testing and troubleshooting and it has taken me until now to even want to open my laptop.

Now if I take today's numbers it looks much better than my normal Friday, so that's what I'll do and say I'm down 1 lb. Gave me another day to work off that authentic Philly cheeseteak sandwich (actually I cannot tell a lie SB, it was two I ate over my weekend trip.)

Now I'm doing the metabolic tune-up phase of my diet plan, so that means I'll be going up and down - for a little while taking a break from dieting and per the leader of my weight loss class - learning how to eat like a normal person on around 2000 calories a day. Hope if fixes my spark plugs, cause I've been up on this plateau for too long now.

Really good job all you losers out there! I love checking in to see how everyone is doing and getting some good laughs as well. Y'all are all so funny.

Bina, I sure wish I could share some of my 'insulation' with you but I know that it's true that some people have the opposite problem that most of us have. It's hard to relate but I know its just as tough. Hang in there.

Here are my real numbers using my official Friday real weigh in day....gotta keep myself honest

Starting weight: 224:
Last Week: 195
This week 194.8
Loss: .2
Total loss: 29.2

I have added .6 lbs since St. Paddy's day - not doing so hot on the race to the R W & B - but better than a certain chimp who shall remain nameles... ;)p We are both going to have to kick it into overdrive!:eek:

Later gators!

Rhena

P.S. While posting this I've been watching a rerun of House and they've just detmined this woman needs to have her mitral valve replaced and she is trying to decide between a pig and a mechanical one... reality TV :D

Pat -- good goin'. You're right there with Superbob at minus-2. We both have some work to do to catch the Wise man! :D

Rhena, sounds like you and the Yo-Yo Queen may need to compare notes, Just kidding. You have been very busy and are hanging in there with your plan. That's a good thing.

As for Superbob, they say confession is good for the soul. Tonight he went out to a seafood restaurant and ordered fresh local oysters. They were absolutely yummy but they were deep-fried. Normally, SB avoids fried foods, but he succumbed to temptation. These were oysters after all. Fresh. Local. Succulent. Best he can say is that there was little or no sugar in the feast. As for cals and carbs, though, numbers untold.

I told you SB - I am princess yo-yo in training and definitely need to learn from the master - wait a minute - is that a good thing? Actually I don't need to learn much. I think I've got it down. So I'm trying to do this tune-up the right way this time and eat extra calories, but healthy ones. Do that until I gain 4 lbs and then back to 1200 till I lose it - rinse and repeat.

The oysters sound yummy - not such a good thing the fried part - but I love them raw but have to have lots of cocktail sauce and crackers - so that isn't too healthy either. I am having some sushi tonight - with brown rice. I worked my butt off in the yard, so I deserve a break. This tempura roll it's called has cream cheese in it, but it is only 40 calories a piece. BTW- how come we are always talking about food on here????:D

BTW Cooker, have you still kicked the nicotine gum habit I'm fixin' to seriously think about pondering the idea of quitting....;) So far I'm just cutting back substituting sugar free gum instead. It is time to stop. My cardiologist was quite happy for me to keep on chewing just don't smoke, but it is expensive and money could be better spent elsewhere - like maybe towards my vacation fund.

Later losers...

Response is way down this week. Superbob is thinking he may have bollixed this Throwdown with these little sprints. The one from Saint Paddy's Day to July 4 is kinda hard to keep up with.

What say? -- should we just go back to reporting what we have lost since we entered the Throwdown? Would that be less likely to confuse newcomers who might be interested in joining us?

Or maybe it's just that Throwdowners miss that cute mischievous Chimp (the birthday Chimp today) as their leader as opposed to dull ol' SB. That's what SB suspects. :(

I kinda like the sprints, superbob! I know cooker probably needed a break and you are doing a very good job. I think some weeks are just like that. One or two weeks certainly doesn't establish a trend. Besides, who ever heard of a dull superhero?

I vote for the sprints too! Don't take the lack of activity as anything to do with you SB - people just get busy - Spring is in the air and all that. People who don't want to Sprint can still check in and do their own thing. Anyone new who wants to get in on the sprint can just use the first recorded weight they have since St. Patty's day as their starting weight. (OK ref?) Please don't get discouraged SB - you are doing a SUPER job as our moderator/instigator! Onward and downwards to the 4th! Let's finish this one out! Good or bad - it keeps me accountable.
