A we enter the last week of the St Patty's Day Challenge it's clear that I will not make the 20 pound goal I had set, go figure:rolleyes2: ... I'm up 1.5 pounds this week but that's not bad considering that I have been stress relieving with Girl Scout Cookies and chocolate cake:biggrin2: ... I had one taste of the banana pudding milk shake that premiered this week, not going to have a whole one, just can't do it ... if I can lose the 1.5 I gained this week I will be down 10 pounds for the challenge and that ain't bad ... we have all done well and I'm proud to be associated with such a great group of losers:wink2: ....

Welcome to the new members we have had join us! ... there is strength in numbers!!!

Now, here is the question ... do we want to start the Independence Day Race next week or the first week in April? ... Do we want to do it at all? ... do we want to have an individual race or gals vs guys? ... it's your forum, you decide!

St Patty’s Day Race Starting weight : 215
Last week : 205
This week: 206.5
Total St Patty’s Day Race Loss: 8.5

Chimp Master,

I believe that we have two weeks left in the St. Paddy's Day race. Two weeks from today is St. Patrick's Day. I need the extra week to lose weight and help spank the wee lads.:biggrin2:

You are correct (you won't hear me say that often:tongue2:) ... maybe I can lose 5-10 pound more in two weeks and put an end to the illusion the girls ever had a chance:biggrin2:

Good job there self-controlled chimp. One taste of the shake is an amazing feat!

I'm looking to be down this week. Fingers crossed.

I certainly do want to continue the Throwdown, but however we do that next phase is okay with me. Having targets to shoot for helps us a little, I think. I know that I would have weighed more right now if it weren't for this St. Paddy's race, even if I'm not smoking with weight loss...hehe.

Wise, I agree 100% ... looking back I have done some of my best losing during the challenges!

Well, Superbob has lost 1.4 pounds of the 3 pound gain he reported last week. That's the good news. The not-so-good news is that he's still up 2.6 pounds for the Saint Paddy's Day race. Without Rhena's spreadsheet to keep him honest, SB confesses that his reporting has not been meticulous at all times during this particular race. Now he's back on the straight and focused and will be doing well if he can just reach zero gain by the end of the Saint Paddy's Day in two weeks. I know The Chimp will think the Man of Steel has let him down, and SB is truly sorry to have let down the simian lardmaster. :frown2::wink2:

The Race to the Red, White, and Blue should get Superbob more fired up. You know, Truth, Justice, and the American Way, not to mention baseball, hot dogs (all beef), apple pie (no sugar added) and, uh Chevrolets. Yay! :D:D:D

Bob ... you are on the right track ... you still have time to log an overall loss for the SPDR ...

Cindy said this morning "I need to respond to Mary about her question of whether we should do another leg of the Throwdown through July 4th." I told her it was Cooker who asked that. She said "Oh, I thought that was Mary." Hehehehe..herherherher.

Here's our report for this week.

CINDY:

Last Week: 149.8
This Week: 147.4
Weekly Loss: 2.4

WISE:

Last Week: 180.6
This Week: 178.6
Weekly Loss: 2

We'll take it!

What is it with me and sweets ... I usually have great willpower when I have resolved not to or to do something ... but with sweets it is all or nothing and I can't seem to handle the nothing ... yesterday was a great example, I had a low fat, high fiber breakfast and then off to the golf course ... at the turn I was hungry so we hit the clubhouse for a diet coke and a bag of "baked" chips and it all went to hell in a hand basket ... ended up with a grilled ham and cheese, pack of honey roasted peanuts, bag of Doritos, and a Three Musketeer bar ... the day's eating went down hill from there .....:mad2::mad2:

The good news, this rant is over ... the bad news, I'm not helping out my team in the SPDR....

I have a feeling you do what I do. You probably get too hungry. I'm an all or nothing person extraordinaire and I can attest to the BE GOOD-GET TOO HUNGRY-BE BAD syndrome. ; )

I think you are correct ... I'm really pretty disgusted with myself ... not about yesterday but the entire not exercising and yo-yo eating deal ... I know that I need to make a decision and stick with it ... I have never turned this particular weakness over to God, maybe it's time ... why He did not create sweets to be zero calories and rutabagas 2500 calories I do not know but I'm going to ask when when I get there:biggrin2:

Well, I'm up 2.1 at 241.2 this week...nothing like a hobby show weekend away from home with dining out to add the pounds. And next week I'll be away on vacation. Sheesh! Cooker, I share your love of sweets. Usually I can control it but cakes and chocolates are tough to resist. Congratulations to those who lost pounds this week.

Jim

Welcome to my world, Jim! You'll turn it around, I bet.

Congrats to Cindy and Wise.

Suggestion for The Chimp: How about carrying around small bags of Trail Mix to eat when attacks of the munchies or candies occur? Not saying mix is without calories, but could take the edge off cravings for the even more caloric junk stuff.

Yay Cindy! Woo Hoo! Yep, I'm ready to do another race to the 4th if you are.

Cooker, since I hold such deep affection for you, I will try to give a helpful response to your post.
I think for some of us, it is an all or nothing situation. It's not fair, but it is what it is. I think you're going to have to give all your trigger foods up . . . . for long stretches of time.

Last week I weighed 156.5
This week I weigh 156.
Loss of only .5 lb but a loss of 5 pounds for the race

How was your weekend eating? ... mine was OK but I did fall under the enticing influence of DW's blackberry cobbler ... picked back up with my new strength training this morning and started back with doing crunches ...

Today is a new day and the cobbler is almost gone:tongue2:

Bob, I'm impressed that you have been absorbing my preachings. ;)
Tomorrow I go to the eye specialist and even though it isn't far I will be bringing along my little bag
of seeds and nuts, 1 or 2 oatmeal cookies, and a bottle of water.
There are fast food places near the opthalmologist office but that food totally disgusts me.
Brilliant surgeons gave me a second life and I ain't gonna screw it up by eating crap.
(post that on your fridge, ha ha) ;)
