Greeting Throwdowners!!!! ... I’m starting this early because I will be at the hospital most of the day tomorrow sitting with friends as there son undergoes surgery to remove a brain tumor ... It is believed to be benign, we are hoping for the best ... His name is Matt and I would appreciate any prayers you may offer up, I know Matt and his family would.

I have had a pretty good diet week and I am now at -6 pound for the race ... I know Duffey will be sending me cyber carbs so I have taken to the trees where I don’t think she can find me ... I hope all that are in it to win it have had a great week and as we approach the finish line I expect a photo finish ... So get your cameras ready and snap some shots of the new spring physiques in swim suits and email the to TheChimp ... I promise to use them is the most honorable way:rolleyes2:

2012 Race To St Paddy’s Day Start Weight: 226.5
Today’s Weight : 220.5 (2-29-12)
Race Stats: -6.0

I'll keep Matt in my prayers.

I'm headed to the pool early morning, but I'll try to weigh in when I get home. Otherwise it will be Friday.

I've paid attention to your daily weight posts, Cooker. Don't forget, the race ends on March 17th, maybe the 15th or 16th according to the day it falls on, so don't try to count your chickens, or pot of gold, before then.:cool2:

I want to thank everyone for your prayers on Matt’s behalf ... The surgery went well and was completed much faster than expected ... There is still the wait for pathology reports but the surgeon said he was 99% sure there is no cancer ... good news, it was a syst, not a tumor ...

While at the hospital one of our other friends got a call with a family medical emergency ... he is older and was very distraught so I rushed home grabbed a few things in case it turned into an over night trip and drove him to be with his family ... we did not need to stay the night but we were late getting home ... all in all a very long day and needless to say my diet suffered....

I believe God at times orchestrates events in out lives ... prayers answered for Matt and me being available to be with his family while he was in surgery ... the fact that the call to my other friend came just minutes after the surgery was over and the surgeon had spoken with us and we felt free to go ... coincidence ... I think not ....

Back to the diet today ... yesterday was a train wreck of hospital snack machine food and road trip snacks ....:eek2:

Glad to hear that you were in the right spot at the right time, Cooker. I agree, surely not a coincidence.:smile2:

I stayed the same this week. I've got a lot of muscle soreness, and I think that's why I'm not showing a loss.

Today's Weight: 153.5
Starting Weight: 159
Race loss: -5.5

I am ignoring the Chimp's apparent race lead until he posts today's weight, but I am willing to acknowledge other Throwdowner's lead once they post 'em. So get busy and post!

Good to hear the good news Cooker. Coincidence not.

Maintaining is a good thing Duffey! You've done well.

I am short on time and will either report our weight from this morning later today or will report in the morning.

Superbob was working off a mechanical scale that is hard to read exactly, and then his doctor's scales that showed the surprising 7 pound loss, now back to digital scales because they seem closest to doctors. But the numbers jump around some depending on how you're standing on it (a source of frustration that caused me to stick them back in the closet for months) -- is that a flaw in the scale or in SB's steadiness? :D

Anyway, even though one reading looked like a 2 pound loss, others looked more like .5, so that is what SB will go with.

Loss so far for the RTSPD: 4.5 pounds.

Way to go, Superbob!

Bronchitis dictates that I consume comfort food ..... I smell sabotage ....:eek2:

Oh noooooooo! Sorry, Mr. Chimp -- hope you feel better soon. Having stood out in a deluge to watch my granddaughter play in a soccer tournament yesterday (and maybe again today), I may soon come down with something as well. :eek2: While I suspect Duffey in that delivery of several boxes of Girl Scout cookies the other day, I can't blame her for my own fool-hardiness. :D

Chimp, prayers extended for you. Get well is definitely more important than getting skinnier. Take care of yourself and get well soon!

This probably ought to go in "Heart Talk" or somewhere, but think I'll just lean on Throwdown friends. For months, I've had occasional feelings of soreness in heart area and sometimes in middle of chest. Usually hasn't lasted long. Not sharp pain at all. I haven't told a soul about it. But last night it kept me tossing and turning almost all night long. I really don't think it is worthy of an ER visit. I suppose I should call my cardiologist's office or maybe my GP, Trouble is my new cardio just relocated and I have a new one I haven't even had a first appointment with (scheduled for May). Guess I should call and see if they will move me up. Don't know if I should go to the Chest Pain Center at the hospital. Would feel like a hypochondriac going with such mild discomfort. It feels like a slight muscle pull but I don't know why it would be that. Oh well...I've vented.

Follow-Up: Okay, I called the cardio's nurse and described my symptoms in detail. She said for now to keep the May appointment; it sounds like something gastric or muscular. If I have any similar outbreak, call the GP unless it's more severe. I think that's about right -- constant dilemma -- how do you know when something is serious enough to merit the ER? I've only been taken to ER once, and that was a few months before my surgery, and I think panic/stress was at work as much as anything,

That's all from Superbob on this topic folks.

How's the weight battle going? : )

SB you were right to check it out. That would be worrisome to anyone (and their family and friends).

Our diet took a hit or two or three over the past few days. Didn't end up reporting last week's weight. Will just wait and report this week and take the blows!

Have you tried taking pain medication to see if that helps?
I think, since you talked to the cardio's nurse, you're stuck with her assessment for now. By now, I mean another 12-24 hours. If it hasn't lessened in severity, I think you should call the GP and tell them you'd like to be seen. Let them run an EKG in the office to rule out most of the bad things. If it does get worse, I'd go to the ER . . . . tell them Dr. Duffey sent you.:wink2:
Speaking of the Throwdown, where's Laurie, where's Nelson, where's the Chimp?:confused2:

Thanks, Duff. Yeah, Superbob is being put on a few new medications, so that could be a factor, no doubt.

And yeah where have our Throwdowners gone? Come out, come out, wherever you are!

This Throwdowner has gone in the "diet dumper" ... Another round of bronchitis and antibiotics has had me munching like it was my last meal :eek2:.... It is what it is but the scales have taken the hit ... TheChimp may be out of the running for the RTSPD:rolleyes2:
