Happy St Patty's Day!!! ... Thank goodness this race is over and we get to start the great race for the Red, White and Blue!!! ... I did not hit my 20 pound goal for the SPDR but who really thought I would:rolleyes2: ... I'm up a pound from last week but I'm down a total of eight pounds for the race and that's a good start toward my ultimate goal ... If I can keep up with my walking and eating better (not right) I may be able to lose a few more pounds; baby steps:smile2: ... Hope all have had a good week and are ready to gear up for the next let in our weight loss adventure!!

Whoever takes the SPDR we are all winners for staying the course, for the fun and support we have given each other!! I want to thank each of you for being here!!!

I vow not to eat a hot dog, play baseball or drive a Chevrolet until I have completed the Race For The Red, White and Blue:biggrin2:

St Patty’s Day Race Starting weight : 215
Last week : 206.5
This week: 207
Total St Patty’s Day Race Loss: 8.0

First of all, The Chimp may want to recheck his math. I think 215 minus 206 equals 9. Nevertheless, Cindy and I will also the same vow as the Chimp...LOL. So, that leaves us free to eat apple pie.

I weighed 179.3 this morning. My first weight in the SPDR was....179.3. It's a wash!

Cindy weighed 149.3. She's up 3.1 pounds for the SPDR.

It could have been much worse for both of us, no doubt.

Yes, Superbob also noticed the omission of apple pie in The Chimp's list: "baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet." Hmmmmm. Make Superbob's "no sugar added" :p

Okay, honesty compels Superbob to report that he has gained a net of 1.6 pounds during the race to today, Saint Paddy's Day. It appears that the race may be down to the Chimp versus Duffey, who are the two stars of this competition. A special medal to Mary, who is practically perfect in every way and doesn't have all the extra weight to lose like some of us (er, me) do. :smile2:

Superbob just hopes that his sorry performance in this race doesn't cause The Chimp to lose faith in superheroes. Maybe he ought to check out Batman or Spiderman -- they look pretty svelte. :p

On to the Great Red, White, and Blue Race!

I think Cooker's math went astray when he reported a gain of one pound added to last week's weight, but whatever mathematical formula he used, he's done well shedding weight in 2011.:smile2:

I went back and checked my first weight of the race. It was 161, but I've reported it as 160 for the past several weeks. With that clarification, my results for the St. Paddy's Race . . . .

Starting weight: 161
This week's weight: 155
Loss for the race: 6 pounds:smile2:

Good race everyone!

I've been thinking . . . if you all want to go ahead and fall right into another contest, it's ok with me. I've got weight to lose so might as well lose it and win the contest at the same time.:wink2:
Would we use our weights next week to determine the starting point?

I fixed it. The total was correct. I weighed in at 207:thumbup:

Oh I don't know. Tight pants on a guy always look good to me.:wink2:

I am afraid that my jeans may split apart while sitting down......... I feel like crap. I just don't feel healthy. I gained weight. THAT IS IT !!!!!!!!!!! NO MORE !!!!!!!!!! I AM GOING TO KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT !!!!!!!...:biggrin2::biggrin2: I am going to become a new person next week.

I've been there, still doing that. I like Cooker's baby steps approach. Maybe we could all take baby steps all the way to July 4 and come away healthier and less pinched.

Think my problem is overeating. I should just eat enough to satisfy my stomach.:) Going to give it a try.

Who won?:confused2: ... We all did!:biggrin2: ... Ok, I hear plans brewing on eating less, more activity, etc etc .... I'm proud of all of us! ...

I have never given anything up for Lent and I know I'm a week late but I'm going to try and give up sweets until Easter Sunday and then I will consume multiple bags of jelly beans:biggrin2: ... I finished off the lemon pie last night so as far as I know there are no sweets in the house:angel:

So far so good:thumbup: ... I have not had a single bite of processed sugar (cake, pie, candy etc) and it seems to be slowly paying off ... We went to Charleston yesterday and we both ate reasonably ... There are two confection shops that I love and as I passed them I look the other way and said "get thee behind me Satan" and this time I didn't add, "and push" at the end of the sentence:biggrin2:

I hope everyone is well ... The pine pollen is terrible here and coving everything which makes it almost impossible to work in the yard ... I don't like to walk at the mall but that will be what I have to do until this yearly plague passes ... We need a big rain and wind storm for two or three days ... None in the forecast.:rolleyes2:
