Greetings ThrowDowners!!! ... as we enter the next phase of ThrowDowning I will push to lose, not merely maintain with a two month mulligan as stated before:redface2: ... we took a trip to the mountains Tuesday, stopped in Spartenburg SC at the legendary Beacon Diner for a Beacon Burger and then up the road to Cooley's Farm for some homemade peach ice cream ... ended up in the little mountain town of Saluda NC to take in the colors and Fall air ....

I'm the same this week but it is only because I lost what I gained ... If I could get rid of this damn yo-yo I could reach my goal weight and stay there but if that were the case the diet industry not to mention the ThrowDown would be in peril ...:eek2:

November is Thanksgiving month in the USA ... it might be nice to share what we are thankful for ... I'm thankful for so many things as I'm sure we all are but I will start it off by putting my wife at the top of the list ... if we make it to February we will have 28 years in double harness ...as you can imagine this has not been the easiest ride for her ... if the truth be known I have many of the character traits of a chimp ... crazy, zany, lovable and sometimes out of control and she has stayed the course and for that I am truly thankful and full of gratitude ... peace out:cool2:

Cooker, the throwdown will never be in jeopardy. Weight control is a lifelong project!

I'm at 134.1 today. I managed to get to 133.6 on Sunday, and have been bouncing between these two points all week. At least that's better than popping up 2 lbs.

I'm trying to get / keep my exercise schedule now that cardio rehab is finished, and count my WW points faithfully. I STILL want to rid myself of the extra 5 lbs I've carried for the last 6 months or more!

Cute story: I was in a Will signing with my boss and a client the other day. Unbeknownst to me the client is a cardiologist. I was wearing a scoop necked shirt so my (obviously fresh) scar showed. Client's wife asked what I had had done, so I told her "valve replacement." Then the doctor starts asking make and model on my valve, who did my surgery, where was it done, what caused the prolapse, etc. etc., and at every answer he kept going "Wow! Wow!"

Y'know, I know my heart is patched together with spit and bailing wire and run on a battery, and I'm lucky to be alive, but sometimes it's nice to have professional validation that I'm a walking blinking miracle.

I can't believe it's time to weigh-in! :eek2: I haven't stepped on the scales since last Friday and honestly have no idea of what I've done this week. I'll weigh tomorrow, I guess, and go from there.:redface2:

Laurie, I like your "walking, blinking" characterization. It sure beats the alternative.:smile2:

Chimp, I like your crazy, zany, lovable and wildly out of control characterization. DW deserves a lot of credit.:wink2:

I'm grateful for just about everything . . . I know I've got it good!:tongue2:

Let's see: I'm grateful for God, a free country, Dear Wife, kids, grandkids, Superdawg, a few good friends, cranberry-orange scones, the beach, Albert Pujols, Carrie Underwood, heart forums like this one, Mended Hearts, Spring Training, autumn leaves, the joy of long hikes, Tai Chi massage, Starbucks, Facebook networking, the ability to work in my PJs thanks to the Internet, rainy days, sunny days, snow at the beach, a church that rocks, great health services, pretty nurses, Zaxby's chicken salad sandwiches, kids soccer, kids T-ball, the dog park, bluegrass and country music on I-Tunes from all over and at all times, and of course The Throwdown and many other things.

I am thankful for a lot of things.

I'm thankful for this website for all it does for me and everyone else on here.
I am thankful when i turn on my computer this site is still up.
I am thankful that everyone here is healthy and alive.
I am thankful to be alive and be able to breathe and enjoy the sun.
I am thankful for being healthy and for having such a great family.
I am thankful to have a job.

All in all, I am so so so thankful i didn't gain any weight...:biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:

Here is a culinary delight to rival Duffey's candy cake: The Krispy Kreme doughnut burger.

What say, Mr. Chimp? Is this the official delicacy of Cooker's Throwdown?

We saw them at the State Fair, I did not try one ... I know this is hard to believe but they do not appeal to me ... Krispy Kremes are sacred and I believe should be left unspoiled except when ravaged by Superheros and Chimps:biggrin2:

I agree with Cooker's sentiments regarding the Krispy Kreme burger. Leave a good thing alone and don't mess it up with meat.:biggrin2:

Last week's weight: 155.5
This week's weight: 157.0

Gain of 1.5

I weighed this morning. I'm at 175.9 which is up .9 from last week. I blame it on Mexican food at Casa Fiesta (where Cindy & I met the chimp and Mrs.). It was worth it. ; )

I'm hoping to whittle away at the weight I want to lose with more ease. I saw a integrative medicine specialist Thursday for my thyroid issue and he recommends that I give up sugar, gluten, and dairy. That is a tall order. However, I may very well give it a try. If I can feel better consistently, almost anything would be worth trying. I'm at the beginning of an extreme makeover perhaps?!

I'm thankful that I still have SOME sanity left. I'm thankful that God loves me. I'm thankful that Cindy loves me. I'm thankful for all of you.

Okay, so Superbob is up a pound: Whaddya wanta make of it? Superbob needs to pack on weight now so he can shed it and win the next race, hahahahahaha ;)

Kentucky Flash, whatever is best for your health -- you can do it!

I don't wanna make anything of it. SB can whip anybody at weight loss. I have a feeling he could whip me otherwise too!

No time to even check out the throwdown - Just a quick note beforee heading to the airport to let you know I will be back and certainly will be in much need of y'all's motivation to get rid of the extra pounds. I'm going to try and not overdo too much - but after all it is a cruise with food 24/7! Later gators!

Have fun, Rhena!:smile2:
Superbob's weight is up due to the scale he ate . . . :eek2:that's better than blaming it on Superdawg. :wink2: Seriously, you deserve a week or two off for good behavior, Bob. You've done really well with your weight loss.:smile2:
Wise, I should follow a similar diet plan. I'll be following your progress with interest.

Sailing, sailing over the ocean blue..!

Sailing, sailing over the ocean blue..!

Rhena's out there sailing, but in case you're checking your e-mail onboard "BON VOYAGE" to you and your crew..!! Yes we love pictures..

I didn't realize we're back in the groove...:eek2: but I'll check-in on either Friday or Saturday morning - depends on choice of restaurant for Friday dinner..:biggrin2:

Aww, I wanna go on a cruise! Wait! No I don't. DH gets sea sick and I get land sick when we come back. I think I'll pass.

Thanks to all the exercise I've been doing, and the point counting, I'm down 1.1 pounds from this past Friday. Yeah Me! Now let's see if I can sustain that until Friday.

Wow, way to go, Laurie! No sprint currently underway and you're still on track.:smile2:

I got a free meal at the hospital cafeteria today, thanks to Mended Hearts, and opted for a tuna salad croissant and a big ol' garden salad, so I'm feeling better (at least temporarily) about my eating pattern. Maybe I should dine there more often.:D
