Cooker's Throwdown Friday III -- 1-21-11

I just wanted to let you all know that my mother's struggle is over and she passed on peacefully in her sleep this morning. I am doing okay and appreciate the thoughts and prayers that have been extended. I know this may be an odd place to post this, but hey, you're my friends.

My thoughts and prayers go to you and your family, Wise. Words are so inadequate now, but I think it must be a relief that your beloved Mom is no longer suffering and that her passing was peaceful. May wonderful memories help sustain you and yours in your loss. May you be comforted also by the knowledge that your mother is in a better place now.

Wise, this is the perfect place to post this sad news because I feel like we throwdowners are like family and when one of our own is going through something so difficult, we are all there for you. Please accept my sincere condolences. Even though you knew it was coming - it must still be a very hard time for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers. At least she is no longer miserable but finally at peace.

I don't know if we have some sleeper cells going on here but there seems to be a little inactivity:confused2: ... I'm excited about the new ThrowDown members and very grateful for those who have stuck with it for the past few years ... this thing for me has been more of a godsend than I realized ... at the start of the first ThrowDown I was a whopping 233 ... now, I have battled the yo yo like many but the point is I never would have kept the majority of my weight off if it had not been for all of you and the fun and accountability it brings ....

To the veteran members ... if you have someone in mind that use to be a part of our little group and has slipped through the cracks sent them a pm or email ... sometimes all it takes to get someone back in the groove is a simple "we miss you" ... As always our doors are open and we all know that proper weight is an integral part of good health...

Ladies, I have stayed the course (so far) this week ... be afraid, be very afraid:tongue2:

I agree with you wholeheartedly on how much this forum has helped me, but on that last point I ain't skeered of no chimp! Now a scalpel and my chest cut open - that is a different story. My parents are here now and we along with my sister had a good consultation with my surgeon yesterday and I think I am as ready as I can be for what lies ahead. Having them here has had a calming affect and I make sure to give them a big kiss and a hug every day!

OK third week's the charm and the Lads took it away from the Lassies - but we will be back! I'm trying, but I have to say not quite as hard as I have been. I'm slightly distracted. Wonder why?:rolleyes2:

Guys lost a whopping 8 lbs and the girls 3.6. Overall girls are still ahead by 3 lb (thanks for that spot!) View attachment The Race for the Green.pdf
