Howdy Throwdowners! ... I hope everyone is well and had a good week on their individual plans ... I just hope the men did better:biggrin2: ... If I make it through today I will have one week, count em, seven days with NO processed sugar, a miracle in itself:thumbup: ... I have counted every WW point and the result is a 3.75 pound loss for this week and a total of 7.25 pounds for the St Patty’s Day Race ... thanks for all the fiber you sent, DW does not hold the same sentiments:wink2: ...

Valentine's Day is right around the corner and TheChimp is trying to scape up enough cashola to send all the ladies a 25 pound heart shaped box of chocolates ... anything to help out:tongue2:

St Patty’s Day Race Starting weight : 215

Last week : 211.5

This week: 207.75 (-3.75)

Total St Patty’s Day Race Loss: 7.25

The Chimp is a phenom! Good goin'.

I think Superbob is about the same, but will weigh tomorrow.

Meanwhile a quibble -- is St. Patrick's Day informally called St. Patty's or St. Paddy's? Consulted a source in Ireland and found this:

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker
In Ireland we always say Paddy's Day or St. Patrick's Day
We shorten Patrick to Paddy or Pat
We never say Patty
Here Patty is more of a girls name anyway

I guess its just a cultural difference, when I first saw all the Americans writing Pattys Day I thought people were spelling Paddy wrong

Cooker, you can save your $$. There's still enough junk food in my office left from Xmas to choke a horse! Fortunately I largely ignore it, and when I do succumb, I TRACK it. Every.Single.Point.

My Monday WW weigh in was 134.7
Today's weight is 134.4, after some extra diuretics yesterday because I could barely get my rings on in the morning.
Y'all can track whichever you want to.
So there's some improvement, but not as much as I'd hoped.

This weekend Jet and I return to the agility ring for the first time since last spring, before my most recent surgery. It has been nice the last few classes to find our teamwork improving as my running/breathing ability returns.

This Monday a gal re-joined our class who had done me the favor of running Jet in class last summer, when I just was too ill to do more than 3 or 4 obstacles at a time. It's always fun and educational to try to run someone else's dog.

Deb runs a crazy fast little border-jack-pit mix in the 16 inch class, while Jet runs in the 20 or 24 inch class. Deb was so happy to see us run - but just a little disappointed she won't be running my big version of her little speed demon anymore! We'll have to swap dogs one night just for fun.

So, long story short, I'll be putting miles on my feet 'cause I rarely sit down at these events, freezing my ASS off (it will be 28 degrees Saturday morning, or less, and that metal cattle barn is NOT heated), and eating only the food I bring with me: pb, cheese, fruit and some crackers. I sure hope that earns me a loss for next week!

OK girlies ... I'm down a bit more ... not saying how much:cool2: ... I'll save it up for next week when the men will no doubt take the lead ... come on men, Downward:thumbup:

Hi gang! Not being able to post at work anymore is a real bummer! I would have posted yesterday otherwise.

So got on the scale yesterday before last night's Happy Hr. gathering (good thing!) and I am at 201.8 - down 1 lb from last week. Not great, but could be worse!

Laurie - you are doing great getting back out there on the track in the freezing weather! I can hardly get motivated to get out of bed sometimes. After my surgery I too am going to be running the track before you know it! (Wait a minute I didn't run before all this plus I don't have a dog!) Well maybe I'll be walking more than 2 miles a day and back at Curves working out They just added Zumba to the mix - interested to see what that is like. Anyway, I used your weight from yesterday and that puts you down 2.1 this week Good going lass!

Thanks for clearing up the St. Patty, vs. St. Paddy's day race conundrum SB. As many Irishmen as I know I should have known that.:smile2:

OK Chimp - you better slow down a little - you don't want your body to think you are starving it and then holding on to all those fat stores. My spreadsheet rounds to one decimal place so you are actually down 3.8. A grudging good job - especially on giving up the processed sugar for so many days in a row. I know how hard that is for you.

Keep it up all... I'll post the week's results Monday evening.

You go slow ... I'm sprinting to victory:biggrin2:

I'm reporting in for Cindy. No change this week.

I'm taking Cooker's advice and not worrying about reporting in for the time being. Take care everyone.

Hey, We survived the cattle barn! Boy, it was cold. 25 degrees Saturday morning.

Jet had a few good runs, without ribbons-usually my fault; one qualifying run with a first place (no heroics, there were only 2 dogs in her class); and a couple real disasters - one where the judge didn't get out of our way, and another where the course called for 2 tunnels, but Jet took 5! Oh well.

I'm happy to report I had absolutely no problem with having enough air to run, except one course where I took the longer route running an outside curve instead of the normal inside curve and fell behind Jet. That made her knock the top bar of the very last jump (Hey mom, where are you, back there? oops). I blew a near-perfect run all by myself.
But I can run, and breathe! In fact, I feel like a normal person!

I also think I burned a million calories shivering! Just wait until I weigh in next week!

Excellent news Laurie! Don't beat yourself up about not keeping up with Jet on the long run! I'm so glad you feel like a normal person again. Yeah!!!

Jay, not that I'm ignoring your big loss, but - I'm ignoring your big loss! :tongue2::biggrin2: :tongue2::biggrin2:

Wonderful news!! ... Very happy you are doing do well ... keep it up:thumbup:

I don't know if we have some sleeper cells going on here but there seems to be a little inactivity:confused2: ... I'm excited about the new ThrowDown members and very grateful for those who have stuck with it for the past few years ... this thing for me has been more of a godsend than I realized ... at the start of the first ThrowDown I was a whopping 233 ... now, I have battled the yo yo like many but the point is I never would have kept the majority of my weight off if it had not been for all of you and the fun and accountability it brings ....

To the veteran members ... if you have someone in mind that use to be a part of our little group and has slipped through the cracks sent them a pm or email ... sometimes all it takes to get someone back in the groove is a simple "we miss you" ... As always our doors are open and we all know that proper weight is an integral part of good health...

Ladies, I have stayed the course (so far) this week ... be afraid, be very afraid:tongue2:
