Greetings!! I hope we are ready to to get the Sprint To Labor Day (STLD) started! I have been woefully crappy at weight loss this year and I'm not sure why. I'm at the point where I'm either going to make a change and take hold of this weight problem or just except that I am, and will remain a lard ***:eek2:

I am currently 4 pounds over my 2014 starting weight (what's with that?) at a whopping 235. I am kind of looking at this STLD as a last ditch effort. I'm tired of the yo-yo and the disgust and aggravation that goes with it. I actually started my post vacation diet Tuesday when I got home from vacation. I'm down but most of that is fluid because I had swollen legs and ankles which have now almost returned to normal. Maybe if I show some sustainable weight loss this thread will have the meaning and the results it is suppose to have.

2014 Starting Weight: 231
2014 STLD Starting Weight: 235
Today's Weight: 235

I'm going with yesterday's weight: 155
That's 3 and a half pounds over my beginning of the year weight, so I share your What's With That question, Cooker.
What do you plan to do today to lead to weight loss, Chimp? What about tomorrow and the rest of the week? Share your thoughts, and fellow Throwdowners will try to help hold you accountable.

I weighed this morning. My doc had told me not to weigh, but I want to participate in the sprint. So, my start weight is 179.5. My lowest weight this year was 172, so I am up but to tell the truth I don't know how far up I went either. I can tell I've lost weight in the last two weeks, particularly in the gut. I don't look as pregnant now, whew!

I've been eating organic coconut and brazil nuts as part of my good fat and snacks. I really like them. One thing I am still having that's in the sugar category is a tablespoon of raw honey daily. It is supposed to have good health benefits and good for allergies they say (I can't take Allegra, Zyrtec, etc. because they make me sleepy, even the next day if taken at night). So, as usual I am rambling. Have a good day everyone.

My goal is to go vegetarian during the day at work. Salads, fruits, yogurt and veggie sandwiches. Then I'll have whatever DW fixes for supper. Also I am cutting off sugary snacks and as much of the artificial sweeteners. I'll take all the policing and monitoring I can get. If this doesn't work I'm toast. I'm looking at this as a lifestyle change not a diet. Diets end and we all know what happens to me then.

Wise, how is the organic coconut packaged and where do you buy it? Superbob, you could sit on the sidelines and cheer us on but I think you should get some pom-poms first.:wink2:

I bought it at Lucky's Market, a new grocery here locally. It's called Let's Do Organic 100% Organic Coconut Flakes (unsweetened). It's in a 7 oz. bag stored on the grocery shelf. I see that it's distributed by Edward & Sons Trading Co., Inc. It's seriously delicious. Of course, if you don't like coconut, then it wouldn't be delicious. Funny thing is I love coconut, but not coconut cream pie; go figure.

I may sit on the sidelines and cheer you dedicated sprinters on.

I have always enjoyed the cheerleaders at football games but I think SuperBob would add more by taking part in the STLD.

We all know that the more over weight one is the easier it it to move toward their ideal weight. Now I admire Wise for wanting to lose more but I would kill for 179.5 and I've seen Duffey and she doesn't need to lose an ounce :wink2:

Maybe different categories are in order like AAAA, AAA etc. or do a percentage or closest to goal???

Wise, what makes something organic, the definition? I know one thing is the price :biggrin2:

Okay, I may have to hijack your thread and don a Speedo and shake my pom-pons while cheerleading for the Throwdown. :eek2:

But since that would go YouTube viral for ugliness, I will participate by posting the number 7 as my starting point. My weekly reports will be pluses or minuses of 7 -- up 1, down 2, etc. Yes these are pounds. Unaccountable though I may be, I am sick of writing my gross weight number -- it would look good on a roster of football linemen, but not in nice company of (more or less) normal human beings. :biggrin2:

So 7's the word.

The price first and foremost, of course. Free of pesticides is how I simplify it. Of course, not everything is so affected by pesticides, such bananas hiding behind a think peel. Maybe even coconut too since it's shell is mucho hard. I don't go around buying only organic stuff thought. This coconut is organic and I love it, having only it's natural sweetness and a delicious flavor. Anyway, I could like it and someone may say, "okay, so..." after tasting it. Recommendations sometimes are as valuable as opinions ; )

"More or less" seems to be the significant factor is this equation of what are normal "human" beings. Some of us are human, more or less; one of us is even less so, that simiannite.

Seven come eleven..... Or three:thumbup: seven is good with me.

So far so good on my plan. I wish someone sold a double chili cheeseburger that was high in fiber, low in fat and taste good. Oh I know I could go veggie burger with tofu chili but that ain't happening. I did have my favorite veggie pizza last night and it was great.

The soy in the veggie burger and the tofu is bad stuff, taste wise and health wise, IMO. You're better off to have the real thing. I love veggie pizza too! I love any pizza though (except for hawaiian, chicken, or pepperoni...or olives).

Now, wait, Mr. Chimp, that fat you're avoiding may be good for you. Too much of anything is of course bad for you, but the thinking on fat has changed considerably in recent years. As Wise says, if it's a burger you want, you night be better off with the real thing.
