Well the birthday weekend took it's tole but I ain't fussin....:biggrin2: ... Had a great time and the weight will come off if I do what I need to do ...:rolleyes2: ... I have been very good about getting out and doing a 30 minute power walk on very hilly terrain ... stress echo coming up next week so I'll see what that turns up ... DW is insisting that I confess some issues I have had so I'm sure he will want to look further ... don't want a cath; hate the very idea ... had one prior to surgery and all was clear, TEE two years ago was perfect .... don't like the poking around but I know I should take advantage of the good care I have ...

2014 Starting weight: 231
This week: 228.5

DW is right of course. I hope everything checks out okay Cooker.

My struggles with stagnant (at best) weight loss continues in part due to pain in my foot. I keep popping Ibuprofen which helps, but it has drug on for almost a week without a resolution. Feels like a hairline fracture, which I've had before in my elbows (both, at different times). I would suspect gout except there's no swelling at all. Just pain. Since my part-time job is done entirely while standing and walking, it has been difficult. Nothing compared to more serious issues, thankfully.

Hope everyone is having a good week. Saturday is the Kentucky Derby and one of my favorite days. Of course, the horse racing industry is a mixed bag of good and evil, but I love the pageantry of the horses on that day and the inevitable unpredictability of a race between three year olds. I like the horse Dance With Fate because its owners decided to enter the Derby on April 18, which had been my mother's birthday. Of course sentimental reasons don't usually pay, but I'll have to bet something. One of the ladies in Cindy's ladies bible study is part owner of the horse Chitu (strange name) and has the horse's mother for sale. If Chitu is in the money, I'd say the mother will sell for a little more.

I had a scrumptious Chicago Dog from Sonic and a peach ice cream cone from Bruster's. The summer season is beginning at the beach (even though it's still spring). I'm not watching weight; weight is watching me. :D

Wise, sorry about the foot, maybe you should get it checked ... Sherry and I were thinking about you guys when they were talking Derby on the news ... I'm sure premium snacks are in order :biggrin2:

Bob ... a dog and a cone might just be my favorite snack:thumbup:

dornole ... sounds like you are doing great!!!

Finished up my walk this morning so that's 5 times this week ... Saturday and Sunday are not good days for me to walk so I'll pick it up again on Monday:thumbup:

Okay, up 2 this week still down 4 for year. But feeling piggy -- and not 'cause of my pig valve. Indeed, for the sake of piggy valve, I better put down the cones and dogs and get serious again. Taking grandkids and DW out for ice cream treat last evening, I meant to make mine sugar-free but then I decided the peach sounded so yummy. And it was. But….. #notsosteely

Hey throwdowners,

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this beautiful weather. After this last week of heavy unexpected flooding, (Mobile had over 20 inches of rain on Tuesday in 24 hours), we are loving the sunshine.

Wise, I am watching the Kentucky Derby for the first time. It is so special. My brother is there and says it is a magical experience.

Everyone have a great rest of the weekend.

Gotten very quiet here -- whaddup Throwdowners? Reckon we are all busy with our various activities (I am busier now in "semi-retirement" than I ever was in my so-called working career) :biggrin2: Cooker, I hope all's going well with your doctor's visits. My DW has some bloodwork today and a visit with her doc Thursday, so hope we will get good results following up her hospitalization back in March.

I am eating I guess a tad more prudently. Need to add some exercise on bike and/or pool to the daily walk. Hanging in there with WW. I have a doctor's check-up myself in June so I ought to be shedding a few pounds in prep for stepping on dreaded doctor's scales. :rolleyes2:

How are you all doing? I will try to post more than I have been lately here. :thumb up:

Oh and Kentucky Flash, that was a great Derby.

Yes, it is quiet. I am getting ready to head out to work, but thought I'd write a quick note. Doing better food wise, getting my head back on straight (if that's possible).

Good luck to your wife SB. I hope her doc's appointment goes well.

Yes, the Kentucky Derby was a good one. I did not actually bet on a horse, tried to but it was a total failure (online site was swamped I guess). I would have recovered a couple dollars on Danza, would have bet on him to show, which he did. My other horses did not do well. California Chrome is a beautiful horse, the trainer seems like a great guy (great story) and no one was hurt in the race. Wise Dan won the race before the Derby. He is actually a far superior horse to any of those in the Derby having been horse of the year twice. At 7 he easily won his race and was doing well. Now I'm looking forward to next year already.

In my case it is the silence of shame : )

Weekend at my buddy's in CT, Derby Day party, ate THE WORLD!! Exercising a lot but that doesn't do much if I overeat. Think I'll report on how "just today" went later this evening. I need accountability.

Will be praying for you friend.

I am also praying for you, my good buddy. Keep us posted. I'm not sharing this anywhere else except with the Good Lord above. I know we all go through scares from time to time that most often prove to be groundless or minor. Praying that is the case this time, too.

Cooker, I understand your concern and hesitation to have these tests done; I am the queen of avoidance, but these Golden Years of ours are really not good for much if the ticker is
acting up. Best wishes and hugs to you over the next few days and weeks. Put down the naughty foods (regard them as poison), and savour some fresh fruits and salads. :D
