Good morning, Throwdowners, and welcome to the start of another Throwdown week!

As we struggle through the final weeks of winter, weather is a challenge for many of us. Looking on the bright side, the frigid temps should put a dent on the insect population and the moisture should nurture some gorgeous Spring flowers. And they're playing baseball in Florida and Arizona right now, so Spring definitely will be here before long! :smile2:

More concerning is that several Thowdowners have been facing health challenges for themselves or family members recently. I am not going to try to list them here right now -- first, because I'm not at liberty to mention some of them and second because I might get the details wrong if I tried. Suffice it to say, whenever anyone wants to talk about these kinds of concerns here, it's perfectly fine to do so. You are among friends here.

Superbob learned a lesson yesterday to never have a dizzy spell in front of the Missus. I had a brief one at the breakfast table yesterday and it about scared her crazy. It lasted only seconds and I have had these over the years for various reasons. I think in this case I had failed to eat enough protein and had taken my type 2 meds together resulting in a lower blood sugar reading than I usually see. I used to have them b/c of inner-ear imbalances. Could have been low bp. I took all my vitals and they were good. Had to keep reassuring DW all day….:eek2:

Okay, next week marks the end of the Race to Saint Paddy's Day, if anyone is "running" it. Superbob is now down 5 pounds in the "race," which means he is already counting himself the winner and is in search of a cranberry-orange scone as his victor's edible trophy. If someone surpasses him, they can celebrate as they choose but they can't have the scone. :tongue2: Cranberry-orange scones were readily available when we lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains but they are scarce here on the Redneck Riviera, so maybe the Man of Steel will burn additional calories hunting for one. :tongue2:

Okay cheers to all our hardy Throwdowners. SB looks forward to hearing from one and all this week.

Superbob, dizzy spells are not allowed on the list of Superman ailments unless caused by a piece of red Kryptonite. Please review the Superman eligibility guidelines for further information. In the meantime, please convey to Mrs. Superbob that the Legion of Super-Heroes has this matter under review so she has no cause for worry.:smile2:

I weighed this morning. I am up 1.5 pounds but Monday morning the gain was 5 pounds, so I won't fuss. However, I do intend to win the race to St. Paddy's Day which means that Superbob's 5 pounds lead is in jeopardy.:wink2:

Last weigh-in: 151.5
This week: 153.0
Gain for the week: 1.5
YTD: +1.5
Forecast for next week: -6.5:tongue2:

Catch me if you can, Duffey, but you can't have my St. Paddy's Day scone! :tongue2:

My new cardiologist (who I really like) already had ordered a routine echo and a follow-up following my new patient visit the other day. So SB will be receiving further doctoring this month, in case the dizziness had any cardiac connection (don't think so.)

In other race news:tongue2: I might become a new grandmother before you're a new grandfather, Superbob. Our daughter-in-law's in the hospital again with some complications that might necessitate a C-section in the next day or two. We're hoping she can make it to the 17th, which would still be 3 weeks early, but that's looking increasingly unlikely.
I guess it's down to a scone or a baby.:biggrin2:

Weight heading in the right direction with a 2 pound loss for the week... we celebrated today with a trip to Farm Boys BBQ Buffet in Chapin SC ... if you are ever near Chapin stop in, it's worth it:thumbup:

2104 Starting Weight: 232
Last Week: 231.0
Todays Weight: 229.00
YTD: -3.0

Duffey,

I hope all goes well with your daughter in law.

Super bob,

You better take care of yourself, or your super wife will take care of you...in HER way.

Hope all goes well for your daughter-in-law and the new arrival, Duffey. My daughter-in-law must be carrying a future defensive tackle -- she is huge and very tired of being pregnant. It's probable that she, too, will have a C-section. Maybe we'll be new grandparents on the same day!

Cooker, that's a good loss but did you wipe it out with one trip to the BBQ eatery?

mbeard, Superbob ain't scared of Mrs. Superbob. :tongue2:

Haha!!!! I have heard that before superBob. SUPERWIFE is your health advocate, and you are hers.

Just got back from Houston Tx, and I am 2 lbs up. I can't resist a mini bar.

Don't know if I wiped it out or not ... this Chimp is too wise to hop on the scales after a "free day" ... Back to my resolve and starting the day with great anticipation ... I doubt I can catch SuperBob but I'm giving it my all :biggrin2: ... I know myself and if I don't have at least one meal a week that I treat myself to I will crash and burn .. and The Chimp is in it to win it:cool2:

Just a quick note. We weighed this morning and we both are exactly the same as last week. That's a relief really (for me, that is). I'll figure up out YTD losses later. Very pressed for time today!

Duffey,
I think I missed it, but congrats on the birth of your sweet grandchild .

All of you throwndowners, we are on for weight loss monitoring . Ww, monitoring is tough, but it makes me
think before I eat.

Take care, til next week.

You've joined WW! Congrats! -- Ill look for you in the Newbies WW Challenge. :smile2:

I want to share good news with my friends the throwdowners! My 34 yr. old daughter, who had melanoma on her leg, got her lymph node biopsy back and it was clear. No spreading of the cancer to her lymph nodes, or in the excised tissue around the melanoma. I feel very fortunate, and happy.

Thanks to all.

That is indeed WONDERFUL NEWS! So good to hear -- hope and pray that all continues to go well.
