Greetings... Don’t know what’s up (or down) with my weight but I’m down five pounds from last week ... I have been watching my diet and swimming but maybe some of last week’s gain was a false high due to fluid or pie :tongue2: ... anyway I have been putting for effort so I will take whatever progress I can string together ...

How did your week go? ... lots of chances to munch with the Bowl game and all that ... One thing I have gotten pretty good at is not beating myself up over a gain ... so if you gain just get back on the horse when you can ... Have a great week :smile2:

2013 Starting Weight: 231
Last Week: 232.5
This Week: 227.5

Activity: swim 4.4 miles = 13.2 miles walking

BionicBob will weigh in and report tomorrow.

Congratulations to The Chimpster!

Thanks Bob ... Just got back from the Fresh Market where DW snuck some cranberry orange scones in the basket ... Try your local Fresh Market to see they have them .... if not I could ship you a care package

Sabotage! Oh wait, we're not racing so I guess the Chimp's motives are pure. Of course he knows that BionicBob has no self-control when it comes to cranberry-orange scones. Actually, I found that the Starbucks right down in central MB has them. Got one with a latte the other day and enjoyed it slowly while watching the ocean. Nice.

Great job Cooker! I'd eat the scone with my coffee right now, if I ad it. I'll have my Cheerios and pretend they're scones.

I am in recovery mode, but I coud ave faired worse this week. From my start weight of 194.5 I am down 6.2 total. That means I gained 1.3 this week, weighing in this morning at 188.3

Cindy actually lost .5 this week. She weighs 158 this morning. That puts her up .2 over her start weight.

Sorry for starting the walking mileage element and not reporting even as of today. I could offer excuses, but why. We had a hairy week and my head was not on straight regarding food and exercise. However, I own my failure and will use it as a springboard to geat mileage achievement this week. I'm going to buy a good pedometer and that will help me a lot.

The good news is that BionicBob is still down 2 pounds for 2013:

Starting weight: 265

Today's weight: 263

The bad news is that he's up 2.4 pounds from last week's weight of 260.6.

Disgusting! :mad2:

As for activity, I have walked Superdawg every day to the extent I am able, averaging I suppose a mile a day, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less.

I have an appointment with my orthopedist next Wednesday to see if there is some way I have a shot to bring my knee to life -- more injections or surgery seem to be the only two options.

Not happy today, though the storms have passed and it's pretty out. (Feel sorry for folks in northeast where the rain system we had will combine with cold front and produce a blizzard.)

That's about it. Not chipper today.

I'd call that a post Superbowl bash bump. Not too bad to recover from! Also, it's okay to have a not so chipper day. We are not always chipper for sure!

Enjoying your blog!

I was up 0.4...that makes a net loss/gain of 0 in 3 weeks. I was disappointed because my pants felt like they were fitting better...I expected a loss!

This week I will walk MILES because I'm taking my 4 year old to Disney. However; it may only do enough good to make up for the "best hot fudge sundae" in the world I plan to have at Ghiardelli's!

When I am back from vacation, my plan is to continue the walking by doing at least a mile every morning before work. (There. Now it's in writing, so I can't back out :))

I'll have to wait until tomorrow morning to weigh in. I felt too lousy this weekend to follow my usual routine. Skipped the gym since Wednesday. I seem to have caught the upper respiratory crud again. I know where it came from - it seems that most of our office crew is hacking and coughing, so it was probably inevitable that I get my fair share. Once I get over it, I'll be back on track.

I just came back from a cruise so I am up 3.5 lbs, but still down .3 for the year.
I walked 2 miles each day around the ship (and/or snorkeled for 45 minutes which is the moral equivalent) did 3 yoga classes, plus 4.6 miles on the stationary bike on Sunday.
Now it's back to the straight and narrow until the next vacation.

Hope you were able to ward off that cold, Steve.

As for Superbob, he had his visit today with his ortho, who took one look at The Man of Steel's gnarled mess of a knee on X-rays, and asked (finally!), "why don't we do a replacement?" So if I pass all the tests (cardio, etc), I will be getting a new knee in a couple of months. To me it's worth whatever risk: I don't want to wind up immobile.

I think I may have managed to shed a little this week, a little of that Super Bowl weight perhaps. We'll see.

Bob ... hope it works out the way you need it to!!!!

Yes, Bob, we do hope that all works out better than your best dreams. Be sure to find out where they put the grease fittings on the new one - wouldn't want it squeeking, would we?
