Greetings!! ... First let me officially welcome Mom2izzy and Steve to our little band of losers!!! ... Great to have you both!!!

I’m down 3.5 from last week ... last week may have been a false high but whatever it is I’ll take it ... I have not had much of an appetite with the crud so I’m sure that has helped ... Speaking of the crud, it sure tries to hang on ... I’m feeling much better but still have a bit of chest rattle so I’m staying on Mucinex for another week...

I think I told you that the pool was closed this week and I’m just wondering if my weight loss had anything to do with being less active ... I have been swimming five days a week with almost no loss and now that I have laid off a week I’ve lost ... I’m not quitting the pool but maybe I should cut back to three days; any thoughts?

So how has your week gone? ... Ready for Christmas / Hanukkah? ... Have a great week!!!:smile2:

Cooker, I think your weight loss might be tied to fewer days swimming, but it's probably because your reduced physical activity lessened your need to consume calories. Another thought, five days might be too tiring and you were over-eating to keep your energy level up. You could try cutting back to four days; I wouldn't cut back to three.
I think my scales might be off. I re-weighed twice to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me, but according to yesterday's and today's reading, I've lost 2.5 pounds this week. It has been a busy week, and no tempting, holiday goodies have been baked, which might explain it.:tongue2:

Last week: 150
This week: 147.5
Maintenance status: -3.5

Merry Christmas to you all!

Superbob is pleased as punch to report that he is still at 262.3, the same as last week's weigh-in.

Starting weight for the Maintenance Race was 265, so SB remains down 2.7 pounds.

That gives SB a little allowance for sampling the rich foods at the great feast. Hope to keep the 250s in sight, though, 'cause that is SB's goal for a few weeks into the New Year!

Swimming is great exercise for many people, but SB confesses he sleep-swims and then has a big appetite afterwards. Walking/x-biking works better for him, but it sounds like a good exercise for The Chimp -- the weight will start coming off.

Cheers to all!

And congrats to Cooker and Duffey --- we've got some good "mo" going into Christmas and New Year's!

Superbob, Mrs. Superbob, the kids, and grandkids had a grand time at Dolly Parton's Pirates Voyage in MB last night. Lots of good pirates' grub chow, a very athletic group of actors and actresses and sea lions, and other characters, and I highly recommend it if you get to this area. Guess I worked off the calories getting into and out of the place. Wishing all Throwdowners much seasonal merriment. Off to Carolina Opry this afternoon.

I weighed this morning. Cindy weighed the other day and it was not a joyful moment. She is Georgia until the 26th and enjoying time with the grand kids. She was supposed to fly out on Thursday, but after three delays the flight was rescheduled for yesterday morning. Then they had a bunch of UPS planes that had priority for take off, having been delayed by one day. I hear that Santa used UPS this year.

Anyway, I weight exactly what I weighed last week, 194.6. I'm up 2.1 pounds for this maintenance phase. I still think that I might be able to break even, or at least be closer.

Great job Cooker, Duffey and SB! Merry Christmas amigos!

Welcome again to our friend Steve and welcome to mom2izzy. Glad you've joined in.

Also, hello Earline, Nelson, our friend from down under. I know there are many more I could include, but I can't remember more names. In no way does that ean you're forgettable, just that I'm prone to forget.

Merry Christmas! Happy Hannukah! Happy Saturday!

I weighed yesterday AM and am wondering if my day-before weight was a "false" low point. Over the past two weeks I do seem to be hovering within a narrow range, from 163.6 to 165.2. I suspect that this is really my current plateau and the minor fluctuations may be due to fluid retention or loss, driven by changes in the sodium content of my diet. If I accept that theory, I'm still not satisfied with the range -- I really want to lose about 5 to 10 pounds, to get rid of the little bit of a belly I've developed. This getting old stuff is not for sissies!

I still have to refine my target, based upon BMI, I think. Also, I will be unable to get to the gym again until next Wednesday, so I have to allow myself some slack. The same will happen to my schedule the next week, as my gym is near work and I am off Monday and Tuesday both weeks. I enjoy the time off, but miss the workouts. At least I am very confident that after the New Year's holiday I will get back to a solid workout schedule. I've been well-behaved (in that matter, at least) for decades, and I'm not about to give it up now.

To all of you, may you have the most joyous and wonderful holidays and may we all stay healthy to continue our treks!

It's Saturday (I think) and my holiday bakery consumption is still under control. I baked a delicious molasses cake yesterday, topped it with real whipped cream, and even though I ate three pieces, I watched the calorie consumption both before and after. Tonight I'm baking for a family get together in southern Illinois, and then I will turn my attention to Christmas Eve/Christmas Day delicacies. :smile2:

Superbob, our grandkids would love to attend a Dolly Parton Pirates Voyage. It's the first time I've read of one, but it sounds fun.
Wise, I'm glad Cindy made it to Georgia. I hope she has a safe trip home.
Steve, your thought that you should strive for a weight based on BMI is a good one.
Cooker, leave the baked good alone!:tongue2:
Laurie, I hope things have settled down at work and you'll rejoin us soon.

All our kids will be converging on the old homestead over the next few days, so I'm a happy camper. (Crazed but happy, that is.:biggrin2:)

See you MAINTAINERS next week! Merry Christmas!

So our goal during the Maintenance Phase is plus or minus 3 pounds. So Superbob was down 2.7 ... but after today -- plus tomorrow's leftovers -- he'll be lucky to be within the plus-3 .... my oh my! Cornbread dressing is my particular downfall. Haven't done dessert so far except a little no-sugar-added peach pie, so that's not too bad.:wink2:

Day after Christmas weighing in at 226.0 .... going to try and lose one more pound by Friday ... Do we want to call this phase on Friday or on the 1st???????

I'm not even TELLING what my scale said this morning!!! Stress eating and no exercise are not a good combination. I'll be happy just to survive year-end.

Methinks I'll start fresh on 1/2/13!

I would volunteer to tell what my scale said, but I don't think it will stay that low. With all the stress and issues (none serious, thankfully) over the weekend, I didn't eat as much as I should have, and was probably a bit dehydrated. I'll see what tomorrow brings. . .

My scale is broken. No, I didn't throw it against the wall when I saw what the holidays can do...It's been broken for a year now. Normally, I weigh in at my weekly weight watchers meeting, but we skipped this week due to vacations. I will be able to report something next week.
