I'm stopping by to wish Superbob a Happy Birthday:smile2: and defend my Nawlins' eating. I had some fancy chicken dish last night and indulged in white chocolate bread pudding for dessert. I'm not sure what tonight's main entree will be, but I predict I will have another scrumptious dessert . . . or two!:tongue2:

On the positive side, diet-wise, I've worked out the past two mornings in the hotel gym and we've walked up and down, all around the French Quarter. Can anyone else say the same?:wink2:

Yeah, I have some experience with the kind of exercise you get in the French Quarter. One word: beads. :tongue2:

Oh and thanks muchly for the birthday good wishes.

Pool was closed for maintenance this morning so I lifted for about 15 minutes and the did 25 minutes on the treadmill at 4mph ... all I can say is that I’m glad I did not but a treadmill !!!!!!:eek2:

I HATE treadmills -- it was a joke in my cardiac rehab how I used to beg the nurse to let me transfer treadmill minutes to exercise bike time (and she usually did; if not, she would massage my back while I did the treadmill -- Lordy, I miss that nurse! ;)

Sounds like a vote for the treadmill :wink2:

Dab-burn pool still closed ... called and they said it was open and when I got there it was closed:mad2: ... lifted a bit and took a steam ... no treadmill for Chimpie today:rolleyes2:

You need to find a Carolina girl nurse who gives back massages while you do the treadmill.:biggrin2:

Seriously, that is part of what deters me from a pool routine -- it's open, it's closed; it's full of other activities, or avid lap swimmers who swim a lot faster than this ancient curmudgeon; hot water out in the shower room, etc etc. I am going to ask my cardiologist if he can set me up to do maintenance fitness in cardiac rehab at the hospital; that's the hub of our Mended Hearts operation, which I'm supposed to take over Jan. 1. Best way to get to know all the folks and have a good fitness routine myself. Would cost be about 50 bucks a month but I figure it would be well worth it to get all the monitoring and well-rounded fitness.

Sounds like everyone is doing fairly well. SB and Cooker, I can't say I love treadmills, but my wife does, which means I better like it a little at least.

Hope you're doing well Duffey!

Going for my MRI in the morning. Will take a Xanax tablet prescribed for me, so I should at least be happy during the test.

Holding good thoughts for your test results.....

We made it back home without too much damage done to the diet, but I'm still recuperating from the trip. :eek2:

Wise, I hope the MRI went ok.:smile2:

Sounds like you had a good tríp!

MRI procedure went fine. I recommend the Xanax! It was much easier to remain still but not as easy to stay awake.
