Greetings!!! ... nothing much to report from Chimpie ... My weight is stable (down one) and I continue to swim daily ... I know my weight will start to drop but I also know that I need to cut back on sweets (wrong time of year for that:rolleyes2:) ...

Seems like there are testing time for some of our little group ... I'm keeping all of you in my prayers ... getting older can be hard ... why can't we age like cheese, beef, wine, ....:rolleyes2:

Have a great week:smile2:

Thanksgiving Day Marathon Starting Weight: 217
Last Week .... 226.5
This Week .... 225.5
Marathon Stats .... +8.5

Those are good results, Mr. Chimp! Keep up that swimming -- Superbob wishes he could find the time during the winter to drive the 5 miles over to the Y to swim, but it doesn't work out. Do have the community workout room a few blocks away and do make it there regularly in addition to walking good ol' Superdawg.

Superbob is happy to report no change this week. He continues to be down 5.9 pounds for this marathon. He considers the status quo to be a miracle because the past week has been stressful for him.

We all seem to have our health concerns, and I am praying for all who are fighting those. My latest is that my doc called and said my A1C (3-month blood sugar level) had risen, and said to check my fasting blood sugar every morning for two weeks and write down the results. The numbers have not been good and I don't know why. I swear I have abstained from leftover Halloween candy. I have avoided rich desserts, I have made NO trips to the Krispy Kreme factory.... I am looking at my eating in general, but worrying that that meds, already at the max level, may no longer be working well. Wondering if a switch to all new meds is in store --- or a start on (I hope not) insulin.

I know we wisely avoid politics, and I mean this to be entirely non-political: In addition to praying for all of us, I am praying for our newly re-elected President, our new (but still divided) Congress, and for our nation in general, that we may avoid the "fiscal cliff" that looms. And I pray for the runner-up who received nearly half the popular vote; I consider him a good man with a good heart and I hope he and his family find peace and continued ways to serve. I hope we all get together as Americans who love our country and find a way to advance peace and prosperity.

Amen.... The Bible teaches that God puts or allows leaders to be set in place. If I believe this (and I do) I have to take tha same stance and pray for our leaders ... God Bless The USA:thumbup:

I'm up a pound for the week, so I am also up a pound for the race.:mad2:

Worse than that, I spent time in front of a Macy's dressing room mirror this morning, and I did not like what I saw. :eek2: I gotta get this weight off, but I will wait until after the trip to make the effort really needed.

Thanks, Wise, for sharing your and Cindy's experience with milk. I will try a dairy substitute and see if that helps. I wonder if this is connected in any way with my bovine valve?:tongue2:

Everyone have a good week and think about poor, little ole me fighting New Orleans's temptations the next few days.:biggrin2::biggrin2:

Dang, morning after morning, I have elevated blood sugar, though I am eating according to anti-diabetes guidelines. Sorry for whining but this is the only place I have to go to vent. Maybe I should find a diabetes forum to inhabit.:frown2:

Although that may help you just keep on whining ... we don't mind a bit and I will be praying that it resolves soon!!!

I weight 190.2 , up .5 from last week and up 1.7 for the race. I actually thought I would lose a pound or two, but weightloss is playing hard to get, that seductress.

Cooker, great job. Sounds like you've found a great exercise program. If could swim worth a hoot, I'd try it too.
Keep it up. I like the long term goal too. My doctor wants me to lose twenty pounds and I think that I should be realistic and expect a longer time to lose it than before middle age and hormonal inbalances.

SB, I admire yours and chimpie's good attitude regarding the po*i^ca! arena. That's all I will say ('cause I'm trying to avoid stress 😎) I am sorry to hear about blood sugar challenge and pray a quick resolution. Also, you are not whining. Friends don't whine they share and support. 👍

Duffey, have a great time in the "big easy to eat" city. You can deal with it later. Oh and let me know what you think of the dairy replacements you try. Doc removed soy from my food groups, so I don't use those. Also, I use Earth Balance brand "butter." They have it with soy or without and honestly I love it.

Oh yeah, Duffey, it probably is the bovine valve rejected the dairy! I wonder if SB's valve squeals when he eats pork?

It squeals with delight actually. Or anyway from somewhere in me comes a squeal of delight -- I love pork chops now more than I do steak --- must be my inner pig speaking. :tongue2:

I'm stopping by to wish Superbob a Happy Birthday:smile2: and defend my Nawlins' eating. I had some fancy chicken dish last night and indulged in white chocolate bread pudding for dessert. I'm not sure what tonight's main entree will be, but I predict I will have another scrumptious dessert . . . or two!:tongue2:

On the positive side, diet-wise, I've worked out the past two mornings in the hotel gym and we've walked up and down, all around the French Quarter. Can anyone else say the same?:wink2:
