Happy Halloween!!! I'm changing my reporting method to "change from last weigh-in" because I am only getting on the scale when the mood strikes me!! I'm the same as the last time I weighed (I think). Anyway I'm just cruising along and hoping maintain or lose a pound or two through the holidays.

Work is BUSY and I'm trying to dial it back a bit but not much luck yet. The holiday goodies are already starting and coworkers bringing in treats almost daily.... Love it!!!

How was your week?

RTNYD15 Starting Weight: 230.75
Last Weigh-in : 233.50
Today's Weight: 233.50

Had my first visit with chiro today. X-rays. Tomorrow morning first session with him. Pain was so bad this morning couldn't walk Superdawg more than a block. She was understanding. We have been through a lot together. I will try to weigh tomorrow morning -- or not. We'll see. Hope the tonsil wait works out for the best for you, Duffy.

And great to see you back, Wise!

Bob.... hope you feel better soon!!

I am still down 1 pound for the Great Race. Staying the same this week is a win because I have not been able to walk far and not sure if I should exercise-bike. So I have kept the eating under control. Wifey had spag and meat sauce at Italian place last night -- and I went with the chicken marsala, though I wasn't crazy about it. This chiropractor has quite a following -- he takes his patients out to dinner once a month in appreciation of them. He said he will help me lose weight and maybe get off some of my meds (which of course I would do in consultation with my GP) through better nutrition and exercise. Said he was impressed with how well I am doing at (almost) 73, mentally and physically, but obviously I am at a crossroads. You all know how badly I want to stay on the walking trails so if we click, I may let him be my fitness guru. We will see how it all goes. His primary specialty is pediatric chiropractic -- along with nutrition and life mastery. He helped my DIL through her recent pregnancy and cleared up DW's hip pain with just a few visits. We'll see step by step if he can handle the big challenge of me.

Superbob, your possible new fitness guru sounds very promising! I hope he takes your "challenge" and the result is a resounding success!
Weight-wise, I'm a happy camper. The steroids and antibiotics are out of my system, and I've crept below my lowest weight of last year. I'm still walking, and I'm in a 5K in STL this week-end. I hope to participate in a 5K Thanksgiving Day (!) if all goes well with Monday's ENT appointment.
Happy Trick or Treating!

SB, so sorry you're in so much pain. Your plan of action sounds like a winner! Appreciation dinners to boot!

Duffey, great job!

Duffey, sounds great -- losing the steroids and antibiotics along with a pound, and looking forward to the 5Ks! Congrats! Hope you're off the hook on the tonsils operation.

Duf-fey!! Duf-fey!! (cheering)

I am INSANE on deadlines for work and my diet, exercise, & sleep suffered this week in a conscious trade of health for cash. But worst is over and I should be able to resume good habits. It's rare that it's "really" necessary.

I'm switching over to my WW weight for my official weight here - it's easier to keep track of where I was at what time.

142.0 yesterday.

Wishing health to all.

Hi Superbob, my mother suffered with pain due to spinal stenosis. She also found walking for too long uncomfortable. She had a procedure called a Laminectomy, a couple of months ago, by a neurosurgeon, and she is doing really well. Thought I'd just share that with you.

I've got good news and bad news coming out of today's visit with the ENT. First the good news: I am going to be losing weight. Now the bad: tonsillectomy scheduled for November 12th. I'm glad the Throwdown ref is nowhere around so I don't have to worry about being penalized for an "illegal diet move".

So sorry to hear that, Duffey. Wishing you a smooth recovery, and on the bright side, you likely will win our race to New Year;s Day. I think The Chimp should reserve you a very nice prize. All best to you….
