Not much to say about my weight... I’m up 1.5 pounds, thoroughly disgusted and about fed up with the entire situation .... I’m not quitting but I am going with what I hope will be the key and that being inward resolve that I can not do this alone...

How did your week go? ...

2013 Starting Weight: 231
Last Week: 227.0
This Week: 228.5

Side Bar: As always we welcome anyone who would like to join us. We are a group who has come to call each other friends. We jest and joke, laugh and cry and are always here for each other. Never mean spirited and always understanding in the ups and downs of weight loss ... we strive for better health. Come join the fun, we would love to have you!!!

Oh, I hear you about the disgusted and fed up with oneself. When I couldn't (and still can't) wear the new slacks I bought in early November, I got really p.o.'d at myself!
Hang in there.

12/31 wt: 146.3
current wt: 142.5
Of course, some of that is just water.
I've given up alcohol, chocolate and other goodies. I'm watching my WW pts and salt closely. I'm still working on getting the exercise back up after my year end work crisis and exercise hiatus. This morning I could not face the elliptical. I could not even face doing hand weights.

Hang in there, Mr. Chimp!

Superbob's stats:

Starting weight for 2013: 265

Last week: 262.3

Today: 261.2

Net loss to date: 3.8 pounds

Superbob is optimistic that he has finally figured it out and can keep trimming. He is going to have to buy some new jeans soon because the current ones are getting loose.

The secret: walk, walk, walk, and don't eat junk.

PS: just saw Laurie's post after sending mine -- good progress, way to go!

Congratulations, Laurie! Congratulations, Superbob!

Cooker, it's possible that you're swimming enough that you're putting on muscle rather than weight. Something to consider.

I'm down a pound for the week.

Last week: 151
This week: 150

Good job everyone! Hang in there Chimp. You'll swing into a loss next week.

Here's our reports:

CINDY:

Starting Weight: 157.8
Last Week: 158
This Week: 156.6
Weekly Loss: 1.4
Total Loss: 1.2

WISE:

Starting Weight: 194.5
Last Week: 190.3
This Week: 188.6
Weekly Loss: 1.7
Total Loss: 5.9

SB, I think you hit the nail on the head, exercise and not eating junk. We have exercised more and I have eaten very healthily. Last night I lightly fried cod in coconut oil. I was leery of the fish tasting like coconut, but alas my fears were baseless. Coconut oil is claimed to support thyroid function and weight loss; both in my favor.

Kentucky Flash, you and Cindy are doing great! I heard something on Fox & Friends this morning about the good qualities of coconut oil. Will have to look into that further.

Thanks gang ... not quitting the Throwdown ... just quitting the dieting ... gonna just try and watch what I eat ... everyone is doing great ... keep it up:thumbup:

Two days of not dieting and I feel great ... no stressing over what to eat, no denying myself what I want ... Three meals, a healthy snack if needed and a daily diet devotional ... still love the swimming and headed that way now .... we will see at the end of the week how it’s working....

Have a great day....:smile2:

Well, Sir Chimp, we may be in the same boat.

Started the year 164.6
Last week 164.2
Current week 164.6

So - I'm back where I started from. In my case, I attribute part of it to a trade association dinner I had to attend last Thursday. 4-course steak dinner -- more beef than I usually eat in 2 to 3 weeks, along with all the sodium and extra calories. We'll see how it settles out by the end of this week. I am also having trouble getting back to my regular gym schedule - work and home life got to it last week. I'm usually much more rigid, but with getting ready for a wedding in the spring (my daughter - not me!) puts many more events on the calendar.

Let's hang in there, Sir Chimp. When the dust settles we will know how we have done, and not before! We can give it a great ride, anyway.

It seem like all are either on track or heading that way ... it’s quiet around here???? .... I know your mother told you not to type with your mouth full so put down that fork and lets get so rhetoric going!!!!!:tongue2:

Glad things are going fairly well for everyone. I'm doing well and am down a little so far this week. Some exercise and eating healthily is going well for me.

Steve, it seems that when you have an event to lose weight for, things present themselves to keep that from happening.

Wise - Once again you live up to your screen name! I still have some time, though, and plan to lose whatever weight I can by the big day. I'm in this for the ling haul. . .

Yes, you have plenty of time! May you blast through all obstacles like a superhero, i.e. Superbob, Superman, etc., or like the superdad you are sure to be.

¡Hola amigos! My Colombian friend and I have started studying together again after a break for most of the past six weeks due to him having sinus surgery. Back to mind twisting again.

Food wise, I am very pleased with where I am. Cindy and I had lunch at O'Charley's with friends and I ate a healthy spinach salad with grilled chicken while everyone else had something breaded and also ate those evil rolls with butter. I didn't have food envy, was happy and satisfied. For me, that is a big victory since I used to equate eating out with "special event" which it certainly can be. I finally learned to differentiate between a normal meal, whether at home or at a restaurant, and a special meal. I'm at my new normal and I like it.

Of course, I know there will be moments of temptation. That only means I'm still human.

Hope everyone's doing good. As Cooker said, where's the banter?!!! Come out, come out wherever you are!

Superbob is super busy. May regret agreeing to be Mended Hearts chief. Now organizing a big fund-raiser to aid needy folks who can't afford to get cardiac rehab after surgery. That's going to be a bear on top of all the other time consumers. (What happened to retirement being a quiet time?)

Also, blogging daily about walking and fitness, and find that is motivating me to do more with steely resolve with regard to both exercise and nutrition. :D Should have a good report this Friday. Cheerio!

SB, I bet you're a great Mended Hearts chief. The fundraiser does sound like a huge project with possibly huge impacts too.
Also, can you share the address of your blog? You may have before, if so I apologize. Having read your stuff before I know it would be good.

Thanks, Wise. It can be found at www.steadfastdawgwalker.com (a wordy name, in keeping with my verbosity). I hope to post something just about every day, though I know there will be hectic days when I can just manage a paragraph or two. Nothing political here; all about keeping on those happy trails.

Today’s breakfast: oatmeal and fruit
Today’s lunch: large tossed salad
Today’s dinner: grilled cheese (wheat bread/no butter) and a cookie ....

Now you're being a Chimp of extremes, Mr. Chimp. Okay, nag, nag, but you need some energy food and some protein. Otherwise, you're headed for a crash, or a splurge when your body tries to catch up.

Okay, I'll quit preaching now....

SB, your blog entry for today is a delightful read. I've only read today's so far, but I'll "walk" back and read more as the days pass.

Cooker, good job there! Keep it up. I was eating oatmeal most mornings, but currently I'm stuck on Cheerios.
