No change for me this week:thumbup: I have not been around much due to a coworker/good friend having a heart attack ... He is still in the hospital and has a long road back ... Please keep Don and his family in your prayers ...

I hope you have had a good week and shed a pound or two!! The front has hit and it's cold!!! Winter clothes cover a world of sins:biggrin2:

2013 Starting Weight: 231
Last Weigh In : 221.0
Todays Weight: 221.0
YTD: -10

Well, as expected, I've taken a backslide. With all the entertaining and business lunches, combined with the weather curtailing my outdoor walks, I've hit the winter skids with a vengeance.

Start of year: 164.6
Last Week: 156.8
This week: 158.4

For the week: +1.6
YTD: -6.2

I'm sure that much of the gain is fluid. I am incredibly sensitive to the sodium content of foods, since we use so little salt at home even a "normal" amount of salt in restaurant food affects me.

I'll let things normalize and see what my "normal" is to be for this winter. With my exercise time-limited, the only variable I can now adjust is intake - and we all know how difficult that can be.

Hope all of you have a better chance than I've had lately. We can do it -- we just have to find the way!

I've heard you mention Don's name a lot, Cooker, and I know you're close. I'll keep him in my prayers for a complete recovery.

Steve, I'm sure you're correct about the fluid retention. I deal with the same issue.

I'm down a pound and a half from last week. I doubt that it lasts. I'll be on my way to New Orleans by the time the next Throwdown thread is started, and I know I will not be watching my calorie consumption.:tongue2:

Last week: 150
This week: 148.5
YTD: 3

Steve ... it's hard to lose when you are so busy... keep on keeping on!!

Duffey - New Orleans? Haven't been there since before Katrina. I love that place -- the food, the music, the atmosphere. . .

At the moment, I'm at work, but listening to some 1920's New Orleans Jazz in the office. I'm sure all the "young kids" are puzzled at the wierd music, but I don't care one bit.

Have a coffee at Cafe DuMonde for me, would you?

Steve, this is our 4th trip to New Orleans since Katrina hit the Big Easy. We love the city. We usually stop by the Cafe DuMonde, but I have to say the coffee is a little strong for my liking. Good food and good music all wrapped up in one. What's not to love about New Orleans!

will try to do weigh-in this weekend -- not doing well right now.

Oh heck, put me down for no change. I won't have time to weigh in on this weekend.

Best to everyone, including prayers for Don.

This week Cindy stayed the same. I lost 3.4 pounds; last was my turn to stay the same. So, I'm down 11.9 for the year thankfully. Glad we made the choice to lose again.

Cindy is busy with activities today. I may use some of my weekly WW points to join the Louisville Spanish language meetup group for a meal at a different type of Mexican restaurant called El Camino. Can't wait.

Have a good week everyone!

I would wager that the coffee is Community Coffee and heavy with chickaree ... I like it but it causes me gastronomical events :eek2::biggrin2:

Good job Wise! And tell Cindy that staying the same is a victory in itself

Cooker - I am not so sure Cafe DuMonde uses Community Coffee. I have both at home -- Cafe DuMonde distributes their own "brand" of coffee, both in NO and natinally. I can actually get it in Illinois and Wisconsin. I'm sure the Cafe DuMonde coffee contains chicory, but I don't really remember if Community does. Both are really goooood!

Okay Nawlins' is super, but I will make do right now with a Starbucks skim latte -- maybe with a small scone to accompany it.

Maybe it is my blue-collar roots, but I still prefer Dunkin' Donuts' coffee. My wife, on the other hand, demands Starbux.

I just never got to like dark over-roasted coffee.

Krispy Kreme coffee is good, too. Trouble is, I can't exercise the restraint to get just their java without also picking up at least a dozen of their doughnuts, hot. :eek2::biggrin2:

We've settled on Gevalia as our favorite ground coffee. They started selling it in our local grocery stores last year, but we had mail ordered it for several years before that. I've given up a lot of things in my lifetime, but coffee is not one of them, and never will be.

Coffee, a great subject. I have never had coffee that rivals my beloved Starbuck's Verona. I grind it at home and make it fresh. I rarely buy it brewed in the store and never have anything other than plain coffee, Splenda and a little skim milk if available (particularly because I don't like the taste of cream fat in coffee). Typically if I have coffee in a restaurant, I find it akin to hot water, hehehe.
