Good work Tbone. Great way to start your Throw-Down journey.

I know this should be in the ACT forum but I have a question. Does losing weight cause your IRN to rise? My diet is steady. You may remember that I plunged (INR) while sick and on antibiotics but when I went back to 5mg a day I was back to 2.5, two week later I tested 4.8 this morning?. As Al said one time INR stands for ?it?s never right? ?.
PS: 4.8 does not bother me a bit, I?ll just skip a dose tomorrow
Goodmorning all...

Way to go Ton! The steady melt is the way to go.
Okay - I'm reading another motivational book called "Naturally Thin". It's not a diet book, it's a book about how you think about food. And Cooker - you touched upon a few of the "principles".
You can have it all - just not all at once.
and
Taste everything, eat nothing.
This one doesn't mean you never eat, it just means that when you are faced with several foods that you love, you have small tastes of what you love. If you taste something and it doesn't live up to your ideal, then don't eat it. It's a good principle for buffets or cocktail parties that have lots of finger food. (Or church potlucks!)
It also talks about stopping when you are not quite full. Because most people don't stop until after this point (me). It says to quit the Clean Plate Club (which was the way I was raised.)
I'm still trying to figure out why stopping sweats has caused me to start shedding the pounds. My DH said - well you must have been eating a lot of them. But I truly really wasn't. I haven't really changed anything about the way I eat other than I don't have a sweet snack once a day. So there was something about that sweet (or the refined sugar it contained) that was not good for me.
I wish I could say I wasn't craving sweets anymore, but I still do - just not as much. I'm past that manic stage. Yesterday I had 3 or 4 dried plums and that really seemed to stop the craving.
Has anyone else figured out what triggers their weight to hang on?
I was down a pound again today, so the sugar in the dried plums doesn't seem to impact as much as refined sugar. I have a few and I'm not tempted to eat the whole bag (unlike a pan of brownies). They also help lighten the load.
Has The Ref certified that plum juice is not on the list of banned substances?
I think this is out of her jurisdiction ?. And if she does I will execute executive veto power
Nothing is out of my jurisdiction. You might veto, but I wager I can find 2/3 majority to override!
I don?t think so ?. As the old simian proverb states, ? do not let you battleship mouth write a check your rowboat ass can?t cover?
......

I didnt know dried plums and prunes were "different" /...please explain?...
Now the sugar craving...
On the biggest loser (Aussie) the other night someone in the group gave into temptation and devoured the yummy sweet treats and the trainer went mad because somehow (sorry-she didnt explain how and she should have) anyway somehow it sends your metabolism off course and it stops burning the calories the way you want it to. I am not sure if she was talking about Ketosis but I have a feeling she may have been. I am thinking thats how they get these peoples to lose enormous ammounts of weight on 1200cals a day and do all that exercise too......
I have been limiting my carbs to around 50% of my intake and also drinking a heap of water...lots more than usual...that seems to keep any cravings away...sugarfree gum is my next defence if that does not work.
