Greeting Losers, or in my case gainers ... I’m up 4.5 this week:eek: ... I have been eating everything that is not nailed down ... I always allow myself a day or two of eating what I want, when I want it, after each weeks weigh in but this week I did not stop ... Stress eating, that’s all it is ... work crazy, DW sick as a dog, you name it ... not making excuses just explanation ... I thought maybe I was bulking up for winter but it was 80F yesterday:mad: ... who knows ... all I can say is I hope all of you have had a better week and I will try and do better ... one good thing is that I don’t get discouraged, I know the reasons for gains and losses and it is what it is ... time for breakfast ... Wise, pass the blueberry pancakes:)

Starting weight..........233
Last Week ..................190.5
This week.....................195
Total Loss ....................38

Your upbeat attitude is what keeps this ThrowDown going. :)

I have not stepped on the scale this week. Last Wed. I had some of my medications changed and by Friday, just two days later, I was up 7.7 lbs. Tomorrow I go back again so I will weigh then. Even knowing it was (mostly)fluid didn't help much. I go back tomorrow for some more labs, EKG, and that will probably be all unless he changes my meds again. I've been back to CURVES a couple of times this week and my heart seemed to take that stress just fine. I've enjoyed eating whatever I wanted this week but that is now over and so back to business again. It is not a war I'm willing to lose so I will keep battling back. Cooker, does your DW have the flu?

Well Cooker - you said it all. It is what it is. You'll just have to do better next week. Glad to know it doesn't get you down. For me that is what starts the vicious circle of binge eating to drown my sorrows that I gained weight.

I think I will be among the gainers this week - I seem to be in good company. I am actually trying to gain by still eating my whopping 2000 calories per day. I'm surprised at how long it has taken me to put on the 3 to 5 lbs I'm supposed to gain before going back to the 1200 calorie plan for a week. Maybe my metabolism didn't need as much of a tune up as I thought.

Hang in there everybody!

Cooker, prayers being sent for Sherry. Tell her we hope she's better really soon.

Betty, you have really had your share of medical issues this past year, however you have such a great attitude. Prayers for better and better days and cooperation from you health for the weight loss you desire!

Well, Rhena is you must gain 3 to 5 pounds, try blueberry pancakes! That just might do the trick! Now how would I know that? ;)

Actually, any pancake will do, especially if you have some of Freddie's Canadian maple syrup!

No Betty, just a bad case of respiratory crud ... she seems to be on the mend now ... thanks...:)

This weight can be a mysterious thing:confused: ... every time I weigh, I weigh twice just to make sure the scales are “acting” right ... well, I got on this morning and I was at 191, just up 1/2 pound from last week ... I watched what I ate but did not seem to spend anymore time in the bathroom ... This same thing happened last week and I revised my weight ... if I were you this would seem suspicious to me ... revise or not to revise, that is the question? ... if I revise then I must be diligent in my efforts all the more, if I don’t revise I could show no gain next week if I continue to eat what I want or an unbelievable loss if I remain on plan ... Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take it, I don’t understand it, but I’ll take it ... so in the spirit of full discloser I have decided to revise Thursday's report and take this gift as sign to stick to the stuff ....

It is a tough job - but someone has to do it. I'll skip the blueberries in my pancakes thank you - I only like those in my muffins!! However, I would happily smother my pancakes in peanut butter with some of Freddie's maple syrup. Oh no... now I'm hungry.... Still trying to keep it right at around 2000 calories per day - so I think I can maybe fix me that pancake for a Halloween breakfast!

I'm in agreement with the mysterious ways of weight loss and big gains and losses - overnight. Sometimes it can be explained - but other times it defies logic.

I did gain - as expected, but not as much as expected - up 1.2 lbs. If I haven't gained my 3 lbs to 5 lbs by Tues next week, I am still going back to the lower calorie diet. I want to get this show 'back on the road' and make some more progress.

Can't let Cooker beat me with his 'by New Year's challenge'! Remember that Cooker when you are indulging in that chocoloate. We won't let you forget!

Starting weight: 224

Happy Halloween everyone and don't get tricked into treating too much!

Up one more lb. Total of 8.7 in nine days. It must have peaked by now :). Cardio visit went fine. He says I look "very good". He doesn't seem the least concerned over the gain. At least that makes one of us.:). I am feeling much better again though.

Next week I think I'll have to post a new weight and start from scratch.....again.

Rhena, can I count the past couple of weeks as a metabolism booster? I think I will. I can't imagine ever trying to gain weight. It just comes so naturally!

Everyone have a good week. Cooker, revise or not revise? Do whatever is to your advantage!

Well Betty, I thought that was your plan all along!!! You are now officially boosted!:)

I hear you about not imagining ever trying to gain weight. I can't believe it myself. If I just let myself eat whatever I wanted to I can assure you that I would have gained it in no time - a day or two max! But, I'm still following the plan that calls for a certain combination of proteins to carbs to fats and limits calories to 2000. So I'm still eating healthy - just more of it.

From having read other threads, I know that you have had a lot going on health wise recently so I think it is awesome that you are still checking in here and giving it the good old college try. You have a fresh start now - so get going! Really, really glad to hear you are feeling better!

Hang in there!
