It gives me great pain to tell you that I won't be around the forum for a while. My running and posting is getting in the way of my relationshp with my wife and family. They must come first. It's a matter of priorities.

I'm soooooo thankful for all of your love and support. It has been a great year. You are wonderful. You will be in my prayers.

Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart (pun intended).

Tom, That's so sad to hear. :( I always looked forward to reading about your running. You were an inspiration to me and I'm sure many others. You have such an enthusiasm and love for running - I can just tell from the way you speak. Its obvious you enjoy running immensely..

While I can understand your family must come first. I will surely miss reading your posts. I guess I'm just being selfish.

Please enjoy yourself and may I say: Happy Trails To You :)

Best Wishes
Marilyn (runner)

Tom,

Ain't it grand when life gets in the way! :D Hope you'll still sneak in every now and then to let us know how you're doing. And thanks again for everything you did to help me out when I needed it most! :)

Tom

Please don't leave permantly. You can still come in to let us know how you are getting along. It is great that you do put family first, keeping active. I come in when I have time. I am busy all the time with work and walking everyday. But I do take time, at least, once a week. But come when you can. We are all here. Take care.

Gee I hate this Tom, but I respect your decision. Please don't be a stranger, but drop in when you can.

...just in case you sneak back for a peek.....

...just in case you sneak back for a peek.....

....you'll be missed Tom, but you're right - you have to take care of the people who are with you 24/7.

Good luck with your marathons. We'll be thinking of you.

Anna : )

Tom - Sorry you need to leave us, I always enjoyed reading your posts. You might consider stopping in once in a while. I always come back and post occasionally, even though I am gone for weeks sometimes. Nobody says you have to spend a lot of time on this or even post. Anyway, I hope you consider this alternative.

Do what must be done, but don't leave us forever. Stop by and tell us of your adventures when you can. We'll miss you! :(

Tom,

I understand completely. Life does get in the way, and as we get further downstream from the surgery and are doing well, every day things become more important.

I've cut my time on this forum down quite a bit, and when I drop in, the number of unread posts makes it almost overwhelming to "keep up." Please just drop by once in a while, to let us know how you're doing - you have my permission not to read every post in every thread...

But cold turkey - please! no!

Tom, the forum is a lifeline and is very helpful and supportive. That is its purpose. Whatever else that goes on in here is icing on the cake. When the initial need is taken care of, we like to support those who come next, so we hang around. But there certainly comes a time when the need has been satisfied and moving on with things is a natural part of it all. Nobody can fill your shoes here, so know that you will be missed. Life is so precious that we MUST hang onto the people who are so dear to us. Please fix things with your family as quickly as possible. Enjoy every single moment with them. That relationship cannot be replaced. God go with you - but we know you will peek in from time to time to say hi. Besides, you will come in when you have a great victory because you know we want to hear and celebrate it, too. Run, Tom, Run.

Well, Tom,
I can understand the priorities. I'm missing this year's reunion due to family priorities. I feel bad about it, but we do know what's most important in this world.

If you find you have time, please don't forget us. I look forward to hearing how our success stories continue.

Tom, I'm going to miss your posts. I've always enjoyed hearing how well you were doing in your running campagin. Please check in once in a while and let us know how you are doing. :) :)

Enjoy all that new time!!

Enjoy all that new time!!

Tom,

I completely understand. Visiting this site is magnetic. I have forced myself to just sit with my morning coffee (although I do pour myself a much bigger first cup now :D ) and turn things off at my last sip. Of course, sometimes, events draw me back later in the day for a glimpse, but I do regulate myself (like a diet!).

I have enjoyed all of your many contributions. You are one of many who is helping me endure the waiting period.

Good luck and Godspeed!! Try to sneak in and say hello once in awhile.

Marguerite

Family responsibilities, working, and marathon training are more than a full plate.

Your decision is perfectly understandble.

All the best!

Tony :)

Tom, we'll sure miss you and hope you come back when it's time. From an old-timer's perspective (seven years out), I quit the forum for awhile due to lots of responsibilities and such and came back to it last year (hence my measly number of posts). I wouldn't be without it now. Time is limited, as is everybody's, but I find a true kinship with the forum members that no one else, who hasn't experienced the health issues, can give me. My hubby (I believe) found it a little weird at first, but he is very supportive now, enough to send me out to Colorado by myself this year. A little time away will give you new perspective on this wonderful site, and I hope, as everyone does, that you return to us. Peace to you and your family.

Hey Sherry!
I don't want to hijack the thread, but Hi! Today,on the way to school I thought that I hadn't heard anything from you for a few weeks. I hope everything is ok!

You don't post for two weeks and Tom decides to leave us!

Hey, Mary. Ironically, I thought of you (my teacher pal) the other day too. Thought I'd better PM you and let you know I didn't "fly the coop". I'll really try to get on chat Sunday. Take care, girlfriend.
