I want to clarify that my intention when I wrote the thread on ?Prayer Group Novena? was purely to pray for those who needed prayers, as I have seen lots of pain in many posts. My intention was not by any means "to offend or disregard other religions or to engage all in my religion", as was said to me in a pm from someone who was offended and considered my thread inappropriate. I did not mean to offend anyone...I have great respect and consideration for all religions. I do not believe this thread, as that person suggested in the pm, would ?prevent Jews, Muslims, 7th Day Adventists, Wiccan, atheists, and others who are not Christian from remaining as members of this forum or from joining this forum?!!

This is why I specifically mentioned that members can send to me their intentions if they liked, which means that those who do not like me to pray for them can just disregard the thread?.I did not impose it on everyone nor tried to offend anyone or tried to be disrespectful to other religions. On the contrary, if someone from any other religion had posted a similar thread to mine, I would have appreciated their intention to pray for me and I would not have been offended nor considered that that person is imposing his/her religion on us!!

I have received nine pms who appreciated this call for prayer and I will include their intentions in my daily prayers.

Eva,

I am sorry you had to endure such a thoughtless PM from a clueless member. It is unfortunate that we even have members who can take a thread, meant only to do good and help others, and turn it negative.

We all have started prayer threads before so I do not understand how someone could possibly take offense at yours simply because you mentioned how you pray. What possible difference could that make to someone?

I am sure God knows your wonderful intentions as well as 99.99% of everone else on this forum.

It was obvious your offer was extended to those who were interested, without requirement, or restriction on, anyone else.

As a member, if I dont agree with someone I just close that thread and move on. Really,"if you cant say something nice ,then dont say anything at all".
Thank you Eva for thinking of us.

I feel so sad my dear friend that someone decided to take offense to this wonderful thread & failed to see the goodness of your heart. We shall pray for them too!

You are a good, decent, & wonderful person & I love you & all that you represent! :)

Eva,
I don't know what to say. Whomever was offended by your post obviously did not understand the kindness which was extended to us. I feel sadly for them as your gesture was made with a pure heart. I shall keep you in my daily prayers as you are a wonderful and generous person. May God shower you with his blessings.:)

Eva, everyone ahead of me has said all the things I am thinking. I for one, appreciate any prayers I can get, I always need them! I can not imagine someone being unkind. Your gesture if kindness is appreciated.

Thank you, Gina,

This was a typical situation when I needed a hug from hubby and it helped a lot and so your words now!! :) Thanks for your trust in my intention which was genuine and from the heart and soul and I hope 99.99% thinks the same.

Thank you, wise, for having understood me well:)

Thank you, Lou, for your support. I have the same policy as yours!...

Me too, Dear Norma, I felt very saddened by that pm especially coming from someone whom I thought knew me!!! I always pray for all those I know and I do not know and will continue doing that.

Eva, I thought that your thread was honest, extremely generous, and considerate. :)

Thanks, Dear Bina, for your trust and good judgement on my intentions and on my personality.

Thanks, Chris, for your kind words and for understaning me. Please keep me in your prayers as everytime I pray more and more, something happens to disupt me and upset me, but I do not allow it from deviating me from my prayers.

Thank you all for your support and thanks to all who supports me silently.

Thank you, dear Deb,

I, for two, appreciate all prayers I can get and my thread was intended to those who needs them. You are in my prayers always.

Eva,
I thought you post was great, no one should be offended, if they did not like it, then move on. I have no problems posting anything on Christianity, because we are supposed to spread the Gospel, that is our job, if any one has a problem, again, move on. Maybe someone who does not believe may just want what you have, they will see the Christ in you, you planted the seed.
God bless

Eva, It was very obvious to me how well intentioned, kind and thoughtful your post was.

Please dont allow yourself to be hurt by this. ((((HUGS)))) x

Eva, so sorry that someone could be offended by a prayer group. Seems sort of silly to me. Prayer is a wonderful thing and really does work!
Just keep doing the wonderful things you are doing to help people. We need more of you in this world today. :)
Whoever you are pm'ing Eva on prayer.. Shame on you for being so unconsiderate of others.

I never understood why everyone has to be the same religion in order to pray together...you are praying to a God of Love, and you are a caring and thoughtful friend with the intention of helping others.
This pickiness and "political correctedness" has really got to go:p

Much love to you Eva

I think this has been fairly well covered, so please, lets move on to other things, like helping people who need it. ;) If you need a hint, start with me. :D

Oh Boy - ValveReplacement.com's Official Stance on "Prayer Posts"

Oh Boy - ValveReplacement.com's Official Stance on "Prayer Posts"

Ok friends - It appears that I need to make clear the official stance of ValveReplacement.com regarding Prayer Posts and generally the discussion of religion on this forum.

This forum is now and always has been for the purpose of Supporting those whose lives have been and will be effected by heart valve surgery.

Last I checked - Christians, Jews, Muslims, Republicans, Democrats, Lefties, Righties, Guys, Girls, and yes, luckily, even cows and pigs :) all have heart valves.

The point is really not the separation of church and state, or one's right to pray, or solicit and/or offer prayers.

The point is - this is "ValveReplacement.com", not "Prayers.com".

I am totally aware that in most cases, the spiritual aspect of our lives is the most important piece of the recovery and healing process.

I will not mandate a limit to your desire to use this forum for the spiritual support that is in my opinion a vital piece of every thing that we do and deal with in this life.

I do however - ask that you respect the purpose of this forum and always keep in mind that everything discussed here should be directed towards the main purpose of this site.

This is NOT a forum for religious debate.

The administrators of this forum will not hesitate in any way, on any day to delete any content that is deemed to not further the purpose of this forum.

Please work with us to further the cause that has made this forum so great.
