I am please to report that Jim was moved to his room this morning around 10AM. I had the fortune to visit him this evening and also met his lovely wife Carol.
I'll let Jim describe details to you later. Here are some of the "highlights".
Jim had a successful Ross procedure Tuesday. He had a second trip to OR shortly after the first to repair a leak in his aorta. He was back in ICU about 5PM Tuesday and was stuck there yesterday because of a problem with his blood not clotting. With some medicine, a couple of units of blood, and some time, he got over that.
Jim looks real good. Lot's of color in his face, though his hands are a bit pale. He was easily able to engage in conversation. Also a strong handshake and eye contact. He was tired as can be expected.
He said the tube was no big deal!
He is on his way down the mountain. Hooray!
Thanks, Marsha for stopping by Tuesday, and for all of your well wishes.
