gosh you people are really getting bad weather.. Hope all of you are O.K...Well, we got what we had prayed for rain...but, came in the form of a big, black thunderstorm ..with heavy rain, ground lighting:eek: Knocked off power/cable for 2 hours..Animals hid for the entire time..me, too.:D ..All over counties in North Ga.But, little compared to what you folks are getting.. Bonnie

Daughter and I went to Pensacola today and on the way home we ran into two small rain storms (none at home, but one about 2 miles away and uptown). It was 102 this afternoon but heat index was very high.

I am sorry about the terrible weather up there In the midwestern states. I heard there was a tornado in Chicago!!! And what about the one in NYC last week? The weather is really getting strange.

I hope all of you are safe.

We have power. 500,000 of our fellow Greater Chicago Area neighbors do not. We were fortunate.

We have power, too.

But, our house was surrounded 3/4 by water last night and we were dumping water into the sump pump to get it out of the basement utility room. Not fun. Some water started seeping through the carpet in other areas of the basement, so who knows.....

At least no rain tonight (unlike what they had predicted)....

Well in our nieghborhood we had some wind gusts, heavy rain with a lot of thunder and lightning, but no damage at all. However in a few towns NW of us there were at least five tornadoes reported, and a lot of damage. Fortunately there are no reports of any injuries.
In the Metro Detroit area there were a lot of downed trees and power lines.
Some major freeways were closed down for hours due to flooding, such as I-75 was closed in both directions for hours.
But even with all that it was nothing compared to our nieghboring states to the west and south. The flooding in some of those areas looks really bad, I hope those living around there are doing OK.

No Power, no hot water, living hell. Day two. Microburst hit our neighborhhod. Next door neighobrs took the brunt of it. It's a disaster:( We were expecting 60 people for a BBQ this eveing. Purchased all of the meat and food 1 hour beforeo the storm hit.Had no idea how bad it was going to be...or I would have skipped the shopping trip. Have been working to "undo" our little personal disaster. Event cancled.

On the bright side...we are not sick, injured or dead. Trees did not come through the roof, we did not flood. 2" of space left before we back up. Waiting hours in line to purchase a generator. If we could just get the power up...life would be good.:) Panera Bread had great tea and free wi-fi! Too bad I can't camp out here until our elec is back on;)

Much the same here, Gina. Our power went out at around 3 PM Thursday and didn't come back on until about that time on Saturday. Power line down in neighbor's yard took out the whole area.

Work fared much better. Power off from 3 PM Thursday until about 7 that evening.

We stayed dry but lost the contents of two refrigerator/freezers and a chest freezer. Two 90-gallon trash hoppers full of what used to be good food. Such a waste, but spoilage couldn't be helped. Not worth the frenzy to try to find and install a generator -- this is the only time power has been off for more than an hour or two in the 26 years we've been in this house.

Hope all is getting back to normal for all of you.
