Beaten again by the Astros!
Scarlett says, "Tomorrow is another day" :) while Rhett says, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damm".
I say," Cardinals lose tomorrow, and I'll just pretend I don't give a darn."

They don't need to play the World Series ... the White Sox have already won it.

Don't believe me?

White Sox swept the Angels 4 straight games to win that series 4-1.

Houston leads the Cardinals 3-1.

Even if the Cardinals can win 3 games in a row against the Astros, they'll be too tired to be a force against the White Sox.

Houston...not good enough (imho) to beat the White Sox.

Thus, White Sox have won the World Series.

*sighs*

Course, it amazes me that a team can switch sponsors at the end of the season. In Chicagoland, the Cubs are affiliated with Chevrolet. The White Sox are affiliated with Ford and Toyota. Now, all of a sudden, the White Sox are sponsored by Chevrolet. I don't get it. Why would anyone want to be affiliated with a company that insists on insulting their fans/enthusiasts with cars that aren't what they claim to be....

Now...if only the Tribune Company would be smart enough to sell the Cubs....and the Cubs would be smart enough to dump Chevrolet as a sponsor ... the Cubs would be World Series champions in 2006 ;).

But, alas, that, I'd say, is wishful thinking. Although...on a talk radio show I heard this afternoon while driving my Monte Carlos, they were talking about how Cubs fans should be rooting for the White Sox ... to force the Tribune Company into really striving for a World Series pennant.

We'll see.

Hmm...maybe I will make that "switch stadiums" suggestion to both teams....

I can't believe how bad the Cardinals Choked.....Oh well, they're good at it.

WAY TO GO WHITE SOXS! YIPEEEE!

This is soo cool! I was 9 years old when the White Sox last clinched their division and went to play in The World Series. The Air Raid Siren went off for the longest time and scared the you know what out of me. I mean this was the 50's! I thought the Atom Bomb was going to be hitting us. The only time we ever heard the Air Raid Siren was every Tuesdays at 10:00am. Once a month our school would practice an Air Raid drill and we would all have to scrunch underneath our desks! I read in the paper this morning that they DID NOT run the Air Raid siren last night when the White Sox won.

The Cardinals get beat tonight, and I'm officially rooting for the White Sox. My dad's family is all from Chicago, so I've always had a Chicago connection.

Well, as a dyed in the wool YANKEE FAN, and of course we all know that's a mute point......I have to throw my support behind the WHITE SOX......They're the ones I'll be rooting for while I still lick my wounds that the freakin' Yankees lost!!!!

GO WHITE SOX....YOU GUYS DESERVE IT!!!!

Evelyn and the miserable losing Yankees....except for Derrick Jeter---he's just the cutest ever!!!

We're headed back to St. Louis for game 6; stay tuned to see what happens!

Go Cardinals!

I spoke too soon! They pulled one out of dirt tonite....Oh well, I'm a fair weather fan, my heart belongs to Nascar.

Glad to see the Cards still in the game. Everyone in Chicago is hoping they win. Would be more fun in the World series.

Jerry's a fair-weather fan of all sports--be it Cardinals, KC Chiefs, local basketball, etc. I can't tell you how many times he has turned off the TV in disgust before the game was over because they were losing.

Last night I went to bed early and was asleep when he turned in. I rolled over and said "who won?" He said "Cardinals lost again.". Then we turned on the TV this morning and got the news that they pulled it out in the 9th. I got to use the old "I told you so" phrase once again. Love it!

*chuckles*

Celia,
My grandmother was the proverbial "eternal optimist". She didn't care what the score was in the 9th inning ... as long as the game was still going ... her Cubs still had a chance. Way too many times I was able to use the "I told you so" on her ... when I really wished I couldn't. Knowing her, she is absolutely thrilled with the White Sox and is rallying behind them as I type. I just hope her Cubs can do the same thing for her sometime soon ... they were close in 2003, just a year or so after she died in October 2002.

*sighs*

The funny thing about last night's game is that we were sitting in the living room watching it ... seeing the euphoria in Houston ... and I made an innocent little comment to those in the room about "wouldn't it silent that place quite quickly if Pujols plants one now?" ... and, wouldn't you know it, not more than 5 seconds later ... it was out of there. I couldn't speak for a few seconds ;).

We were in St. Louis yesterday, and the whole town is rocking!
St. Louisan's are just glad to have the Redbirds coming back to their home town for tonight's game!

Let's GO, Cardinals!

About now, I am wondering how long I can actually hold my breath! It looks like it might just be finally happening for us!

Go Astros! Buzzzzzzzzzzz!

Yeehaw! :D :D :D

I am listening to firecrackers as I type! We are all very excited!

Go Stros! BUZZZZZ!

Well the Astro's just wanted it worse than the Cardinals....I hear the wrecking crew warming up the Cranes...I bet the old Busch Stadium will be completely gone before Christmas...They have the new Stadium built right up to it...

So sorry Mary. I was kind of looking forward to a little friendly grenade throwing here during the WS.
