I'm hoping we win today. We're at Houston for the next three games, but we could win them all and move on up to the next level.

Go Cardinals!!

Mary, we may have some HUGE problems in our near future. My house is a big White Sox house.

Go Sox!

AUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!

Go Cardinals!!!

Sorry Mary, even if I wasn't a White Sox fan I couldn't root for the Cards. My Dad would walk out of the grave to exact punishment on me if I did. He was a huge Cubs fan and you know that Card/Cub rivalry.

Oh and...
Go White Sox!!!!

Funny, I thought the rivalry was greater between the Cubs and White Sox    than between the Cubs and Cardinals!
I would root for the Cubs if they were in the playoffs rather than the Cardinals (Right, like that's gonna happen :p ).
We like the Cubs down here except when they're playing our team.
Anyway, we probably won't have to worry about a match up this year. ;) ;)
We need a Chicago team to meet the Cardinals NEXT year, so we can attend the 2006 Valve reunion in St. Louis, and GO TO A PLAYOFF GAME! ;) ;) ;)

I'm cheering for the Astros myself. It's about time something good happened in Houston sports. We've seen nothing since the Rockets 2 time victory and that was about 10 years ago.

Go Astros!

I'm with you Karlynn.

GO WHITE SOX!

I'm a Cubs fan first then a White Sox fan! I'm a Chicago team fan. Well I too like The Cardinal too, when there not playing a Chicago team! :D

Yes, there is quite a Sox/Cubs rivalry. The Sox always feel like they're the ugly step-sister to the Cubs. It doesn't matter how poorly the Cubs do, they sell out Wrigley. The Sox had tickets still available for the first game of this series on game day! ($175 tickets, but available none the less.) My Dad forgave my husband (our original Sox fan) for being on the "other side", but he made sure his grandchildren had lots of Cubs attire.

A play-off game for the reunion would be awesome wouldn't it!

Yeah or after today's loss they could lose the next two and watch Astros go to Series for the first time. Need to win one of the three in Houston to get it back to St. Louis.

I am a Redbirds fan of the past 50 years but it doesn't look good right now. Sanders is hurt, now Nunez is hurt (and of course Scott Rolen has been out for the season), and they went into postseason with one of their top relief pitchers, Al Reyes, hurt. Edmonds and Walker aren't hitting much and the Astros' pitchers are able to work around Pujols.

Still it could turn around if the Redbirds can find way to win Sunday.

Go Cards!

Game just ended:

Want me to run naked across the field during the next game?

Yes, Yes! I do, I do!*

*trying to lengthen the message to at least 10 characters* :p :p

*clears throat*

Regarding the Cubs/Sox "rivalry", I've suggested to others (and I may send an "ultimatum" of sorts to both teams) that perhaps the Cubs and Sox should switch stadiums for a year ... to test each team's theory about the attendance figures.

I remember a night when both teams were in town this year ... the Cubs were pretty much out of it, the Sox...well, we know where the Sox were ... yet, Wrigley Field was sold out....The Cell wasn't even half full.

I just don't get it.

*shrugs*

Mom and Dad are backing the White Sox, of course. I'm not sure who I'm backing at this point. After tonight's games, the White Sox are guaranteed to be in the World Series. No question about it.

As for the NL, it's a toss up. I can't see St Louis losing to Houston...but, they did tonight. If Houston gets into the World Series, White Sox will sweep. If the Cardinals get into the World Series, the White Sox just might be beat. Then again, the Cardinals did NOTHING against the Boston Red Sox last October.

Guess we'll see.....

I was a wondrin' when you'd chime in Cort.

That's a great idea about switching stadiums. I do think that much of the Cubs draw has to do with Wrigley. Who the heck can get excited about going to a stadium named "US Cellular Field"?

One of my first big outings after valve replacement was to see a Sox game. It was the new Comisky Park (The Cell now). Our tickets were the next to last row at the top. I thought I was going to die climbing those steep steps.

Or, Mary Sunshine, as Annie sang, "The sun will come out tomorrow....!" and hey tomorrow is here and Ross is going to run naked across the field. :p

Hey let's hear it for the bare nekkid Redbirds winning today! :D

Hey Cort I too was wondering when you were going to make a comment. Carol and I were discussing the playoffs yesteray and she asked me what your opinion was. I said you hadn't posted yet. She was rooting for the White Soxs until that second game at home last week. I think now she's almost rooting for the Cardinals! Not me! Well unless The White Sox lose! NOT!

Sorry I am loyal to Chicago! :D And after yesterdays game my bro-in-law said he's like to see them lose today, so they can come home and clinch it! I'd rather just see them win todays game and end the suspension! ;)

Karlynn, I agree. Who wants to go to a stadium called "US Cellular Field"? Yuck!
