Well, Dr. McCarthy's assistant called this afternoon. It seems that the doctor has a schedule conflict on Tuesday March 1st, so they asked if I could make it in for my surgery on Monday, February 28th.

Rather than chance being delayed into the next week (Dr. M is out of town the latter part of next week), I agreed.

Now, I only hope that those docs and staffers don't go out and party too much on Sunday evening. . .

When i saw the title, I thought oh no, but I'm glad when I read this that it was to move the surgery UP 1 day and not postpone it. One less day to think about it. Enjoy your weekend.

I asked my surgeons office for Feb. 29th, almost had them. Good luck and will see you on the other side of the mountain Steve.

February 30th sounds even better. I hope they schedule mine then. :)

Good Luck to both of you!

Well getting it done & overwith sooner sounds better, Steve! I think you did the right thing by taking them up on the 28th!

Won't be long now....keeping you in my prayers!

Monday's better - gives you a chance to get out of there in time for the weekend.

Spring is the best time to recover. The sun is out longer each day, and everything is growing and renewing, just like you.

Enjoy your weekend. You will be in my thoughts on Monday, Steve.

Very best wishes,

Well, so you will make it into the February Club in addition to being President of the Class of 2011, Steve! We'll be sending our best vibes Monday and best wishes for a smooth recovery.

GET'er done sooner rather than later but now your Valversary will be shared by Chris's/Mainframe's Birthday

my surgery at northwestern got held for two days, it was kind of annoying since i was all ready for one day, then had to wait a few more! but oh well, someone needed it more then i did that day :)

I think this is a first (a first for me that is) that a surgery date has been pushed up. A good thing for you Steve, you've been waiting a long time.

Make sure the doctors have all your information. Why you ask?
My boss had his date pushed up and went in to get a kidney removed - all the medical papers indicated the right kidney was to be removed, when actually it was to be his left. The "left" was only confirmed with the surgeon as he was being wheeled to the OR.

Didn't mean to scare you, just make sure everything IS in order.

Good Luck and we'll keep the light on for you.

Steve, I'm hoping the 28th works out well for you. Both my surgeries were pushed (back in my case). It almost seems like one can't count on it really happenning until they are pushing you into the OR.

February is Heart Month, isn't it? Sounds like a perfectly reasonable request from the surgeon to me! At least you'll have the Oscars to talk about as they are wheeling you through the corridors of the hospital. Not to mention that the show will be a great diversion for you as you work to stay calm the night before. Just butterflies -- not nerves, really. You've been with us too long for nerves, Steve! Right? :wink2:

I will definitely have you in my thoughts on Monday!!

Go with confidence!:thumbup::thumbup::biggrin2:

Nerves?

Nerves?

Nerves? Mine have been shot to pieces for weeks. They don't even talk to me anymore, I've been ignoring them for so long. It has been a really crazy week at work, 6 AM to 4 or 5 PM, just getting the last details finished. Today will be a challenge, too.

Not worried, though. Even if I don't sleep for the next several days, I'll sleep enough Monday and Tuesday to catch up!

Well Steve, just get through today at work. And if it all doesn't get done, then they will have to figure it out for themselves. Have a wonderful weekend with your family. Just go with the flow. I will be thinking about you on Monday. Best wishes for a successful surgery and a smooth recovery.

I too will be thinking of you on Monday. From reading your posts, it sounds like you have been dealing with this a long time. Good that you were bumped up!. I was backed up 3 weeks.
Good thoughts for you Steve.

John
