Just want you to know that you will be in our prayers and thoughts on Tuesday, Betty. I'm sure you will do just fine and we look forward to hearing that all went well and wish you an easy recovery. There are a lot of bad knees in this forum counting on you to show us the way!;)

I've not been on the board much this past week but had a few minutes to check in today. I was so surprised to find a thread about my knee surgery...thanks, Phyllis.

I'm just a bit anxious to have this over and done. My PCP said I'm an orthopedic's dream. He said it in jest but the truth of it stings a little. The knee just happens to be the joint being worked on next. There is an ever growing list of other skeletal issues that I'm told need to be addressed. I'm hoping for a quick recovery and really hoping that I will still be able to attend our mini southern VR reunion in a couple of weeks.

There are so many on the board that are really dealing with major major problems that mine seem so puny in comparasion. There are days though that the pain from all these issues wears me down. But hopefully after Tuesday there will be one less to battle.

I thank everyone for their prayers and well wishes. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Betty , all the best with your knee surgery
and we'll all be with you in good thoughts and prayer.

Betty,
Best wishes for a great outcome tomorrow and high hopes that we'll see you in Gatlinburg!

Hi everyone. 8:00AM I had a required INR before going to the place where I was scheduled for surgery. INR was 1.2. When given the choice though I opted for a general rather than a spinal. At 11:45 we were on the way home.
Everything went very smoothly and the pain medication is working very well..

He said that once I'm over the post-op stuff my knee should feel "better" but that it would only be temporary since the arthritis is pretty advanced. He said that a portion of the meniscual tear was moving back and forth into the joint and the pain from that will now be gone. That was very good news. Thanks everyone for your support. I have to say it really has been about the easiest surgery day I've had. (Maybe I won't be saying that when the numbing medicine wears off).

I requested extra anti-nausea medication before the surgery began and I haven't had even a hint of nausea. I'm going to bed now though to rest, ice and elevate. I'll see some of you in the mountains in a couple of weeks after all!:)

That's a good report! Just what I was hoping to see. Take care and heal up Betty; looking forward to meeting you in Gatlinburg.
