Looking at the board and watching all the activity, I have to ask, How do you people normally browse the forums? When I come on, I immediately start at the top and work my way down, reading everything. Just curious as to how most of you do it.

I have my bookmark set at the forum page but I usually click on "New Posts" first. I look at those, answer if appropriate and, if I have time at that visit, go through the forums top to bottom.

Sometime, during most visits, I look at who is on-line and what is on the calendar.

And, sometimes, I am just all over the place. It just depends on my mood but, mostly, "New Posts" first.

I usually stick to

I usually stick to

Heart Talk, Small Talk or Pre Surgery and Resources, as I am not at the point of having surgery yet, or on coumadin, so I kinda feel out of place when I go into any other forum that the above mentioned. Harrybaby :D

I am all over the place. Must go along with my inability to sleep.

Im

Im

usually on 'heart talk' or 'small talk' , will invade other's if I feel I can contribute... love the pup

There's been so much activity, I frequently don't get past "New Posts." I check once in a while, and find I've missed posts that flashed through while I was off.

It would be nice to have a logged-in option of "Today's Posts," like the one that shows up when go on from a different machine, before you log in.

Best wishes,

Heart Talk and Small Talk, then others as I have time. But I used pre and post surgery a lot and they meant a lot to me when I was first starting out.

I'm trying to see what works, if anything, for improving the display order. This is almost as bad as a poll, everyones so different that it would be 50/50. Guess there isn't any really great answer. Doesn't matter if your all reading them no matter what order they're in.

For me I always click "New Posts" and skim through to see what I can relate to. I rarely stray from there. Once in awhile I'll go into one of the specific forums, but not usually. "New Posts" generally does the trick for me.

Ain't tried that "New Posts" trick yet. Gotta Do That.

I usually start from the top and work down. Sometimes I will scroll down and see who's logged on especially if I've recently sent someone a reply. I peek in at "Coumadin" ever so often (Couldn't pass up the thread about "Singing on Coumadin" :) ), have looked at "QAS---Monitoring" once or twice (not on Coumadin any more so not a topic of interest), ditto for "Recipes" (figure everything I eat is out to KILL ME in some way :D ), have opened "New Advancements" once or twice, haven't looked in "Reference Sources" (I get all I need to know :) from the other sites), Small Talk TOO MUCH :D :D :D , "Reunions" to see if anything is coming up near us, "Support" when I need help making this "DUMB" computer do what I want it too  , "Membership-----Fundraisers" occassionaly, and think I opened up "Guestbook" once when I first discovered it at the bottom of the listing (never posted anything in it that I remember). Thats my story and I'm sticking to it :D :D .

I have noticed that some are showing (from their posts in this thread) a tendancy to slowly wean themselves off posting on "Pre" and "Post Op" as they move further from their own walk. You are our "bread and butter" of our family on VR.com. Newbees come here seeking advice and guidance. Who can better provide it than "someone who's already been there-done that"? And just because you've said it 100 times, 101 might be the answer this person needs. They've already gone through a lot just getting to VR.com, don't make them search further unless they want to.

May God Bless,

Danny

always go to new posts first - although I have to admit I only found that a few weeks back, before that it was straight to coumadin, heart talk and small talk as they are the only areas I felt I would be able to contribute to not being a heart patient myself.
Love all the areas anyway!

New posts, then look for things I can answer from our experiences. Sometimes I have time to post answers, sometimes not, So I check back later. But it's always New Posts.

Then I do look at who's online from time to time.

It's always New Posts first - then if I haven't been on in a while  I check through the main forum list.

Very similar to many here

Ross. I often wait to sign in and start off using the Today's Posts. It is always a longer list than New Posts for me (must have something to do with time zones and being on Pacific Time  ) and so I feel as if I have a better list to go through if I use the Today's Posts instead of the New Posts. LIke Bob, I would like to have the Today's Post stick around when I log in. Why are they different??

I'll sign in if I have lots of time and feel I can respond to some threads.

If I have a specific question I use the search button.

If I need info outside the site, I use the resources tab ( I LOVE the resources information that this site has -- thanks to ALL of you!!). That's usually all I have time for. I will go to the Forum page from time to time when I need to look back for a thread that has not been active.

Thanks Ross! Marguerite

I'm with HarryBaby - heart talk, small talk, then pre surgery, but I'll take a look at the others when I have time. Since I haven't had surgery a lot of the other forums do not apply to me right now.
