breast cancer info (forum) for a friend

a very close and dear friend has breast cancer. DCIS is what hers is called. We have a number here who have had/have breast cancer. I am trying to help her find a forum where she can talk to others who know about this dreaded condition.

She had some exploratory biopsy a while back (few weeks) and now is going to have a lumpectomy Aug 22. Anyone know of a forum that is kinda sorta like VR?

She has checked into, I think it's Mayo Clinic but would like to find a support/info forum.

Sounds like she has non-invasive breast cancer- a good place to be. Here's a pretty good forum: http://community.breastcancer.org/ I think Mayo Clinic may have its own forum as well.

The link that Phyllis gave is the best, I think. There are some others which are fairly clinical and really don't answer many questions sufficiently. The forums on Phyllis's site are a lot like those here. However, please tell your friend, there have been some "dust-ups" there. The moderators are a little more lenient and there were some trolls, even on a cancer site (at least a couple of years ago when I went there). But by and large, it was a good site and a lot of good information with lots of informative links and very nice friendly people.

Thanks, Phyllis and Nancy. I will send these to her. She has had lymph cancer for yrs but it crops up from time to time. This breast cancer is new and she needs support and info about the cancer and meds used for treatment. I really appreciate it.
