I would like to attend the reunion but I have to talk to my wife, and check on the financial situation.

We are still talking. Joann has a new problem that will delay our decision for a few weeks. We like the idea of Sam's Town. They have 2 excellent RV parks that are near the casino.

Red Rock Canyon and Valley of the Fire are outstanding. The boat trip on Lake Mead would do better than the thrill rides at Stratosphere.

We would both like to see all of our "old" and "new" friends.

Thanks for the suggestions..

I will check on the house boat group rate thing.

Something outdoors sounds good to me also.

It should be starting to cool down by mid October.

I think I will pass on anything involving nakedness. I have had trouble with uncontrollable mobs in the past when exposing my unique physique.

Oh but Hank, naked and free is a good thing! :D

Well I'm not at all sure any of that matters to anyone. Don't know too many people that are buff, but I know alot that have defects about them and they enjoy it just as much. ;)

Suggestion: Touch football MVR's vs. AVR's vs. All Others, in the buff, in the Sam's Place Parking lot?

My wife can't make it, and I can get there Thurs. afternoon thru Sat. afternoon. Is this enough time to meet everybody; learn names; compare scars; share war stories; bowl (or not); avoid Celine; perhaps see Elton;and realize that I'm not the only Coumadin victim (addict)?

Looking forward to meeting all of you.

OK guys, looks like we better be getting a team together. We don't want the women to show us up now do we! :p

After It's Over

After It's Over

I'm going to try to make this reunion. I don't post much, but I do lurk quite a bit, so I'd like to get to know you folks better.

After the reunion, I'm thinking of staying on a few days to do my usual casino-hopping (Las Vegas is an annual "pilgrimage" for me), then rent a car and go to Zion and Bryce Canyon and wherever for a few more days. Is anyone interested in joining me?

Plans are a little uncertain yet, but Shirley and I are talking about spending the first part of the week with our son in eastern Arizona, and possibly traveling to the Grand Canyon or Bryce with him before heading the rest of the way to Las Vegas. So our visit there would be before the reunion, not after. But then, plans are still uncertain.

I don't know that I'd want to run around in the buff. And like someone said, that falling and bleeding, yuck. I saw some of the raspberries the fellows in the Tour de France had after their spills and that was yucky enough.
there is good shopping (outlet and otherwise) there too.
Is there anybody who is coordinating matching up roommates for those who are coming solo???

Rasberries

Rasberries

We solve the rasberry problem by smearing vaseline all over the lanes first. I am surprised you haven't heard of this technique. :D

There is no room coordinator at this time. Are you volunteering?

Hi Jim,

My plans for the reunion are still uncertain as well, and if I come it'll be last minute as usual. I saw a package deal for Sam's Town plus the flight from Tucson for $392.00. Not bad I thought. Better than the room rates Hank quoted us in an earlier post.
Also my daughter's baby is due the 23rd of October. She's having an awful time with this pregnancy and I am not sure if I should leave around that time. She has two other kids to take care of and she might need my help. Difficult to decide right now. I want to do both.. We'll see how it goes.

Sam's Town has an awesome bowling alley. We will be doing that for sure...

What other kind of group activities (if any) would y'all like to do in Vegas?

I am kind of partial to just having 1 or 2 structured things and letting folks get together and come up with other activities on the fly.

You know it's kinda sad. A Year (nearly to the day) after my family and I move from vegas I get a new heart valve and now another year and ya%'ll are going to Vegas. I almost wish I still lived there just so I could meet up for the reunion too. You should really enjoy Sam's Town, and if you want to stay off the strip try Boulder Station (also a nice one ) . You need to take at least one evening to go to Freemont and see the light show at night and walk down there. Be sure to stay on the strip. And Red Rock is a beautiful place but a ways out of town. Be Sure to Always Have Water with you. If you aren't use to the desert, it can get you. I hope that ya'll have a Terrific time, and hope you make good if you gamble. :D
