Sam's Town has an awesome bowling alley. We will be doing that for sure...

What other kind of group activities (if any) would y'all like to do in Vegas?

I am kind of partial to just having 1 or 2 structured things and letting folks get together and come up with other activities on the fly.

Feedback?

Hi, Hank,
How about a trip out to Hoover Dam? I see on the Internet that there are various packages: transportation out there and to Lake Mead (sp) and even some Colorado River rafting tours (not the extreme kind  ). Some packages are reasonable and others are a little high. I'm sure there will be enough of us with rental cars to go out there on our own. Just an idea...

Hi Folks, It looks like I won't be able to attend the reunion due to a European climbing trip in September. I can recomend a hiking side trip however, at the Red Rocks Canyon National Conservation Area (a long name, just do a search for RED ROCKS LAS VEGAS). This place is only 20 minutes northwest outside of Vegas and is another world! A great winter rock climbing area, but has some nice trails too. Just the drive around the loop is worth the trip. You'll see why they call to Red Rocks. A little further north is Valley of Fire state park. My girlfriend talked me into seeing this while we were in Vegas, I'm so glad she did. Memorable. Will

Looking forward to seeing you guys

Looking forward to seeing you guys

Just wanted to say that I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in Vegas. Last year was wonderful and I expect this year to be even better!

Outdoor trips such as hiking would be great. I am game for that.

Mechanical Sister in need of convincing!!

I need some help convincing my sister to attend the Vegas Reunion. She has had 2 open hearts just like me. She needs to be pushed a bit. I am sure she'd love everyones company. Please send a few e mails (Rain, Sherry, Christina, Gina, Dave, Hank, etc.). Her name is Amy ([email protected]).

Thanks Guys....

Greg

Hey Greg,
It is nice to hear from you again. I am looking forward to seeing everyone again also and meeting the new ones that come for the first time.
I hope you can get your sister to attend. I will email her.
Take Care

Lets do it!!

Lets do it!!

I haven?t bowled since that night in Vegas. But I might give it one more shot if the ?coach? shows up!! :) Where is Mr. K anyway?? Come on, Mary!! And our Auntie and Uncle too!! And BILL!! ..... we have to have him there to show us how you achieve the perfect score! lol :D What a great time we had!

Greg..... your sister is gonna box your ears!! lol Come on, Amy!! You?ll have lots of help in Vegas!! We?d love to see you there! Goodness knows we need help keeping Mr. Greg in line!! :D

Hank, I?m all for the doing your own thing........ but Hey!! Next time you do something crazy like ride the Stratosphere rides  ...... let us know!! Wouldn?t it be cool to have a whole roller coaster full of mechanical heart valve patients! :D We?d probably make history!!

Stratosphere Overview: It's kind of hard to miss the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas; the nearly 1000-foot behemoth is visible from anywhere in Sin City. In a town known to embrace the outrageous, it's still insane to discover that there are thrill rides ATOP THE TOWER. Even more audacious than the people who thought of placing rides on top of the Stratosphere: the nuts who ride them (that'd be me...and you?). None of the four rides would be particularly noteworthy if they were planted on the ground, but at more than 900 feet above Vegas' famed strip, they're all beyond wild--and two of them may just be the most thrilling, if not terrifying, rides on the planet. It's all about psychological thrills, and these rides give acrophobia a whole new meaning. When the see saw-like XScream totters over the edge of the tower, or when Insanity (speaking of insane) dangles above the Strip and tilts its cars down as if to eject its passengers, psychological thrills just don't get a heckuva lot more intense. The Big Shot is a fairly standard drop tower ride, but when you're freefalling 1000 feet in the air, all I can say is, "Yikes!" The High Roller is the mildest of the four rides, but snaking around the top of the Stratosphere still imparts some thrills. For those too squeamish to brave the attractions, just riding to the top of the tower is an adventure that I'd highly recommend. You'll get two different experiences during the day and Vegas' neon-infused night. If you've got the time and the dough (reward yourself if a slot machine pays off!), try both

If I had never seen the Grand Canyon.. I would do that trip! It?s one of the seven wonders of the world... and WOWZERS...... such an awesome place. I?m not really sure how far it is from Vegas... but I know they do tours from there. It?s like 4 hours from my house... so probably about the same from Vegas.

Can't wait to see you all!!

$150.00 -- 15 hours?!! Yikes!!

$150.00 -- 15 hours?!! Yikes!!

Okay, never mind......... I just checked... it?s $150.00 and up for a bus tour from Vegas to the Grand Canyon and it takes 15 hours!! HOLY SMOKES!! About $500.00 for a helicopter tour. So never mind... ya all can just come to my house (8 ½ hours from Vegas) spend the night, and I?ll drive you the 4 hours from my house to the canyon. We can go to Mesa Verde the next day... it?s only ten miles from my house. Then we can jump in my car and take a ride over a 4 wheel drive mountain pass. :) lol You?ll enjoy the scenery so much you won?t even be afraid of falling off the side of the mountain...we?ll picnic along the way!! :) That's a day trip. Then back in Vegas in time for your flight home. :D

Just a thought. lol :D

Seriously, you are all welcome any time. It would be better than trying to get there from Vegas. I didn't realize it was so far or that it cost so much money. I guess you sorta take things for granit when they're in your backyard.

Hey, Greg, long time no hear. I didn't realize your sister was a valve patient too. Of course, bring her with you. I'll send a note of encouragement and hopefully others will too. Looking forward to Vegas.

Did somebody say there was a party at Rain's house? :D

I'm up for whatever anybody wants to do - especially whitewater rafting and Celine Dion! I'm lousy at bowling... :(

Hey Greg...I'll send your sister an e-mail as well and encourage her to come. Will be nice to see your smiling face again!

Sherry -- Congarats on your Eight Year Anniversary! Think Rain, Gina, you and I can get in trouble again? ;)

JimL -- How's the Reunion Wine cooking these days?

Pam -- What's a "cigarette boat?" Like a "banana boat?" Will be nice to finally meet you..!

Gina -- The cruise looks like a good time. Want to check it out for us?

Hank -- Will be nice to see you and Michelle again this year. And Dave -- nice to see you again too!

William -- What mountain range in Europe? Sounds like fun..!

OK...details for the party at Rain's house please............... :D

Hey Janie!

I don't think Celine will be on while we are there. Though.....I highly recommend the show. It was awesome!

Elton John will be on :D I think it is called the Red Piano???

Janie, The wine is bottled and labeled with the names suggested by Christina and Mary, but I'm not sure yet that I want to bring it and have one of the four bottles break in my luggage. We'll see as we get closer.
There's gotta be someone better than Elton John...

"I've had worse."

"I've had better."

Both are also called "St. Pepin," the kind of grapes they were made from, and they have the VRcom logo.

Hey Janie,
Nice to hear from you again :)
I was looking forward to seeing Celine also, Elton sounds good to me.
Looking forward to it.
Take Care

"I'm lousy at bowling" Me too!

"I'm lousy at bowling" Me too!

Hey Gina,
YES, we do have to get the girls together sometime. They?d have a great time. They?re growing up so fast. I look at my boys and wonder at how the years flew by. It seems like I only had them under my wings for such a short time. And my Sara is already gonna be 12 next week!

I wonder if they have house boats on Lake Mead? I guess Hank already has rooms set aside tho. Someday we gotta have a vr.com reunion on a house boat. Lake Powell is only 2 ½ hours from my house. Waaaay back BC, we used to rent a couple house boats for the weekend. Everyone would bring their ski boats and boy did we have a great time! :D I?ll bring my boat & skis!! :)

Jim, I?m sorry I missed out on the naming of the wine this year. You?re gonna make the grapes go sour!! No respect.... no respect for those beautiful grapes. ;)

Hey there Ms. Janie!!
?At Rain?s house??! I thought we were sleeping out in the wild with the animals. :p

I?m game for some live entertainment. :D Is it gonna cost an arm and a leg? :p lol
