Blood Pressure increased

15 days before m Blood pressure readings were 150/78. So Doctor prescribed me "Envas 2.5" a day. Yesterday Again I checked the B. P. it read 167/78. Now Doctor said to take the Envas twice a day.

My echo-cardiogram states mild hypertension. Is it due to decrease in Mitral Valve area (1.65Cm sq.)?

Have anyone gone through the situation??

how are you taking your blood pressure? are you doing it at home with
a mechanical or electronic device? are you doing it yourself, or is someone
helping you?

how many times do you take your bp? do it five times in five minutes and
you'll get five different readings. you have to use an average.

150-167 isn't that much, especially if those are just two isolated readings.
are the conditions the same? lots of things can affect your bp....how
you're sitting, time of day, are you rested, are you stressed, listening to
loud music, are you tired, are you hungry, etc.

when i was watching bp, a kept a notebook and recorded my bp at least
five times per day. each time i would take my bp at least three times.

before i had my mitral valve replace my blood pressure was very high. that is when we found out i had a problem. it was very similar to what yours are. when i went to a cardiologist at the cleveland clinic and found out that day that i needed surgery i was put on metoprolol 25 mg twice a day and lisinopril 2.5 mg once a day. that seemed to take care of all the problems i was having before surgery. i am now 5 months out of surgery and have been off the metoprolol for 4 months but continue to take the lisinopril. Since surgery my blood pressure has been fine.

like jax above , before surgery my blood pressure was always around 146/70ish to 150/70ish the top figure was the only one that was highish but not enough to be medicated , i have an electronic omron10 but it is important to take the blood pressure correctly to get accurate readings plenty of sites out there which will tell you the correct way to do it and also the same times of day as it will alter during the day

Dear Sir,

I am taking the BP with mechanical device. Yesterday evening I have again measured. it read 140/76. I measure it at a Friend Doctor who is a general physician. I am now going to try ur 5 reading and averaging principle. Also i will measure i with different devices so that exact conclusion can be made.
