This discussion of being able to donate blood got my hopes up that I may be able to donate while on Warfarin - the Red Cross says no on their web site - bummer.....I was hoping they had changed their protocol, but they didn't....an excerpt from their requirements is listed below
Coumadin (warfarin) , heparin or other prescription blood thinners- you should not donate since your blood will not clot normally. If your doctor discontinues your treatment with blood thinners, wait 7 days before returning to donate.
