I am sure somebody here knows what type of bird this is. They seem to travel in a tight flock, and never give me the chance to get close. This was the best I could do.
I thought the same as Gina..Some type of a bluebird..I have only seen one bluebird..in the 9 years living on top of our mountain..but our gated community have many bluebird houses down below us..Had them on our farm..but they needed special small openings in their birdhouses..My F/I/L ,made many around our farm........B/T/W..had a Hummer yesterday..getting the last of the nectar from our plants...guess he was refueling for the long trip south. I'm not familar with a western bluebird, since we live almost east of the Mississippi River (the river is a mile east of us!), but it your picture looks alot like an eastern bluebird.
I pulled up a picture of a western female bluebird, so you can take a look and see what you think, Dennis.
