Sorry for the delay - I'm new and had to register before I could post. After that, I got distracted for a few days.
About your CPAP machine: I've used one, and it had humidifier. Tank of water the air passes over before it gets to your nose. Worked fine, maybe a little TOO WET sometimes. Should eliminate any trying out.
If you don't have a humidifier on yours - check the manufacturers web site. Your model may have an optional humidifier unit that fits right on it - then you wouldn't have to replace the machine.
My humidifier unit has a temperature control - nice for cold nights.
