Hi Bart and welcome home! The day after surgery I started having the visual aura that I used to get at the start of a migraine headache. I had had the same thing after a cardiac cath once too. It however did not progress into a headache. I mentioned it to my surgeon one night and he asked me to explain it more fully to him. I told him that I could only really see bits and pieces of his face and alot of his body was just zig-zag lines. He said that sometimes cardiac surgery could start a cascade of migraines and he wanted me to start taking imitrex at the very first visual signs I had. He sent me home with a RX for 90 imitrex and several refills. I have used a few of them and within 10-15 minutes my vision is back to normal. I had never taken imitrex before this.
I hope you and your pacemaker soon become usesd to each other. GEt your strength back and then tell us more about your surgery. Thank Megan for remembering to keep your VR comrads in the loop as you were in the forefront of our thoughts.
