Awake at 245am...I would love to be able to sleep. Mind just keeps going. Wishing I knew what time my cath is on Thurs. Won't get a time until Wed afternoon. Want to have things set up for who is caring for my son and when on Thurs. He has preschool and swim lessons. Thank god for grandma. I just don't like keeping people waiting. Can't believe surgery is 10 days away. I just want it over with now...tired of waiting.

Several things about your posts have struck a chord with me, including . . . My husband and I both have strong personalities but I made up my mind ahead of time that I would probably get better nursing care all around if I was just as pleasant as possible (I had read here about another patient who decided to not complain about anything, and I liked that idea and then wanted to focus on that because it gave me some control) and I just let my husband "slay my dragons," as needed. I'm having a little trouble explaining that so I hope this makes sense.

Best wishes, Kerri :) .

Thank you for you observations and thoughts. I am preparing myself to be a (good) patient and not a nurse, knowing I have little control over this. I know my husband will be by my side for whatever I need. I have asked him several times over the past few days if and when I can just forget about all this and I'll just go back to work and our normal lives...of course he quietly says "no, I don't think so."
