How did you know that I'm sitting here eating my breakfast with one hand and typing with the other???? But it's VR's fault....I never spent this much time on the computer until I got hooked on VR!! That's okay though, I'm getting pretty good with eating and typing at the same time and I usually get dressed before noon....well, okay, I guess I better do the 12 step program!!

Thanks for the laugh Ross!

Thanks for the smiles, Ross. It's been two and one-half years since my beloved mate of 50 years passed away. Over one year ago I shopped (by myself) for a computer, hauled it home, studied the manuals, ordered cable service, set it up and proceeded to learn as much as possible about using it effectively. At age 79, I make no apologies about the hours I have spent enjoying the web, as well as software use for my sewing machine connection. It has been my link to the world through depressing winter weather and even more so since my MVR has kept me from much socialization these past six months. My surgery is scheduled for May 25. This group has prepared me better than all the pros put together. I may have to go to nursing home for awhile post-op. I dread leaving my home, flowers, etc. BUT most of all, I can't imagine a few weeks without my COMPUTER. Mine draws me to my little sewing room after every meal starting with breakfast. Thanks for listening. ;)

Spring,
That's what I call a woman with gumption! I couldn't even get my avatar posted without an assist from Ross and you seem to have had the patience to set up your computer from scratch! "Steady as she goes" doesn't seem to be in my make-up, but I certainly admire the quiet resolve I see in you. I'll be off on a short vacation next week so I want to take the opportunity now to wish you well as you head off to surgery. I'll make a point to send some positive energy your way and will look forward to hearing about your progress on my return. If you do end up for a short stay in the nursing home, surely someone will have a computer you could make use of from time to time. If not, maybe someone could post for you. Go slay that dragon Spring, and come back to tell us about it!
My best,
Sue

Geez, where were you 8 years ago when I was REALLY addicted to the net?! ;)

That advice probably would have come in handy.

Hi Spring

Hi Spring

I wish you would tell us all about yourself. do you have children Grandchildren. You live alone..and where..What state? iI am the nosey one on VR..but love to hear your story...as others would. We will worry about you when you go for surgery. Can you give us your post-plans yet? We want to hear from you after your surgery...Other little things..Like do you have pets....Get those fingers a going.. :D :D :D Bonnie (age 64)

Hi Spring. I am glad you have come to our site and glad to hear you can find some comfort in the words of the fine people here. I know that this site has helped me a lot and have found people here to be sincere and open with their sentiment. I hope you will continue to post and let us know how you are doing. If there is anything at all we can do for you, let us know. And I totally understand about the depressing winter weather. I live in the Pacific Northwest and see virtually no sun for six months and I know it gets to me. Take Care.

Bonnie, I never considered you the "nosey" one here. I always saw it as passionate and caring. I am glad you take a interest in getting to know each of us as individuals and not just a post. Keep it up!

DEE, I am with you....except sometimes I don't get dressed before noon! (If I can get away with it). I will fill you in and the cardio appointment when I get back tomorrow.

ROSS, Thank god I can come here and laugh. If it weren't for the smiles I can always find here I think I would lose my mind. For instance......Jerry's daugther decided to have two other 15 year old girls spend the night last night. Heather decided to go to church this morning and left her two friends here. At some point Jerry decided to go to Home Depot for stuff and left me here (I have never raised kids) alone with these two strange girls. I was sitting here typing an e-mail and I heard one girl go into the bathroom off the hallway. About a minute passes and I hear the other girl in the hallway sobbing her head off. Then I heard the first girl come out of the bathroom and some muffled voices exchanged. Then the first girl came to me and told me that the other girl was bawling because she had to go to the bathroom and the first girl was still in it so the second girl peed in the hallway. Now....I don't quite get that. I have two bathrooms in the house and if anyone would have said a word....I could have directed them to the other bathroom or even outside. Now my house smells like urine and I am quite sure that it is a pretty good thing that I never had children because I have no clue how to handle things like this. I am stumped and the stress level is on a constant incline. So am I very very very happy that you have posts that make me laugh when I so desperately need to smile.
Thank you.

I will be sending this to a few people I know who surf the web all day while at work. I hope they have their volume turned up! :D

Thanks for the ammo Ross. ;)

Welcome, Spring - we oldies do ok, don't we? Congratulations on your computer accomplishments. Keeps the mind perking, huh? I am glad you found VR. It is a real pleasure to come here every day (well, sometimes, several times a day) just to see what everyone is up to. occasionally they are up to no good and that's always a hoot.
