am at daughter's in Atlanta. last time here was March and April;. w/in 36 hrs of arrival back then, they dropped more than six inches of snow, lots of rain fell, there was hail all over the yard one time, sleet, very cold weather. when I went home in late April, their weather cleared!

well, this time, there is a flood. people have lost their lives and their homes, schools and businesses are shut down in a bunch of counties. it is so heartbreaking to see it on TV and know it is just a few miles away. This area where we are is out of danger far as I know. More rain is due in some parts today and prediction is until the weekend.

So, if you could, please pray for these families and this city.

Ann,
What a time to be in Atlanta! Today is my second day home with my kids, schools are still closed, now the death toll is up to 8... so very sad. I grew up here and have never seen anything like this. Attaching a photo of one of the major expressways during rush hour last night experiencing a flash flood. There are entire schools and homes under water as well. I feel grateful we live up on a hill, as there is a small lake in our neighborhood that rose pretty high yesterday. Hoping after tomorrow the rain will be clearing out and we'll get to see the sun again.

Our area has had about 9 inches of rain in the last 2 weeks but parts of North Georgia have had 15-26 inches of rain. I feel so bad for the poor people who have lost their lives. Most were trying to drive across flooded streams and their cars were washed away and they drowned.

I have been for a while now. I have a buddy that stayed through Katrina in New Orleans and I'm still praying for all of them too.

I will certainly keep all n my prayers.

I was in Atlanta twice last year, and was told they had been having a drought. However, it does NOT take much to cause flooding -- either from saturated ground or dry, parched ground. Either way, you get flooding.

You have all the floods and are inundated and our area is burning up daily for lack of rain. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could find a happy medium. This is going to be a bad year for Calif. and wildfires.....we have at least 1 1/2 months yet to go before we get over the worst part of the year. Anyway, I feel for all of you or any of your families affected by the flooding. A disaster is a disaster, no matter what causes it. My heart goes out to all involved.

hang in there...the picture looks like Houston during Tropical Storm Allison. I still stay away from underpasses during heavy downpours!

flood waters are subsiding but what a mess so many are in. losing their belongings. FEMA has stepped in and the area is determined to be a disaster area by the feds so that will help many. so sad to see. but they are determined folks and will get back on their feet.

rain again this evening and night but not so bad but it's definitely not needed right now.

We have been watching the news on TV & feel so bad for all these poor people that live in these flooding areas.

My prayers go out to all of those affected & hope that the rains subside soon!
